Gwangalli pizza restaurant pick for Busan travelers: Extra Mile

I'm here to share a review of the pizza and pasta I enjoyed at Extra Mile, a new Gwangalli restaurant that's really good at pizza, along with menu and pricing info. I went on a trip to Busan a little while ago, and while touring good restaurants I wanted to try some Western food too, so I searched Naver for places nearby that do good pizza and pasta. At the time I was staying at the Hyatt Haeundae, and when I looked up good pizza restaurants nearby, Extra Mile in Gwangalli kept coming up as a place everyone was talking about, so I went to check it out myself! It was close to the hotel, all the staff were kind, and above all the food was delicious — it ended up being the restaurant I was most satisfied with.

This is Extra Mile, the pizza and pasta specialty restaurant in Gwangalli. It's located about a 5-minute walk from Gwangan Station Exit 5. It's in an alley near the Gwangnam Police Substation, so it was easy to find. If you walk from Gwangalli Beach toward Gwangan Station, it's an easy stop. There's no parking in front of the restaurant, so Boseong Private Parking Lot is the closest option. I parked there myself before visiting!

Extra Mile is a casual American dining restaurant in Gwangalli serving pasta, pizza, and salads. It aims to go beyond simply serving a meal — hoping the taste of the food, the service, and the time spent in the space all exceed expectations by a little. Inspired by the relaxed American dining of LA, with its space, music, and warm hospitality, Extra Mile is building a Gwangalli Western restaurant where you can have a good, easygoing time.

What is the atmosphere like inside Extra Mile?

I took some photos of the interior of Extra Mile in Gwangalli. Even from the outside it had a clean, cozy feel, and stepping inside I was met with a lovely, tidy, comfortable space. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly, so I ended up having a filling, delicious meal thanks to them ^_^

The self-serve pickle bar at Extra Mile

Even the pickles here were delicious right from the start!! They're set up at a self-serve corner so you can help yourself freely, which I loved. They were so good I think I went back for two more servings, just for the pickles ^^

Salad pizza and potato pizza as a half-and-half

I ordered a half-and-half of the salad pizza — a crisply baked crust piled generously with fresh European lettuce, Caesar dressing, cranberries, olives, and nuts, offering nuttiness, freshness, and a sweet-tart flavor all together — and Extra Mile's signature potato pizza, loaded with Gangwon-do dubaek potatoes. The signature pizza had a deep, savory flavor thanks to fluffy potato, salty bacon, and truffle oil added on top!! It was great being able to enjoy two delicious pizzas at once!!

Bisque cream pasta ordered with the combo set

I ordered pizza and pasta together as a set menu. For the pasta I chose the bisque cream pasta, made with a rich bisque sauce simmered for a long time from red shrimp heads and shells. With the nuttiness of Reggiano cheese and a subtle ocean note from gamtae (sea lettuce), it was a delicious pasta with deep umami!!

Is Extra Mile in Gwangalli worth a visit?
