Found this place while looking for good restaurants in Sanbon — the squid pork stir-fry set at Deodolpan! Went for dinner with my mom and the cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) and steamed egg were so good I had to write it up~~~👍

This is a squid pork stir-fry place that's new to Sanbon! It's famous in Seongsu-dong and just opened a branch here, so I had to try it out haha

Finding the restaurant on Sanbon Rodeo Street: location and atmosphere
Since Deodolpan is right on Sanbon Rodeo Street, it wasn't hard to find at all. Plenty of seats inside too, great for groups!
The tables weren't crammed too close together so it felt cozy and comfortable haha
It's actually kind of hard to find good Korean restaurants in Sanbon, so I was so happy a place like this opened!

We had the squid pork stir-fry set haha, and there were 4 spice levels available — we went with the basic one!!🌶️🌶️🌶️ I can't handle spicy food well so I picked basic,,,.
Even the basic level was plenty spicy, so if you can't handle heat, basic is definitely enough for you!
Squid and pork stir-fry set: how spicy is the basic level?
Wow… the sauce was so rich and thick, seriously delicious! The pork had zero gamey smell and was really good,
The squid pieces were big and chewy too, great texture to bite into haha
Even at basic spice level it was spicy enough that the rice kept disappearing — finished a whole bowl in no time!
Cheonggukjang and steamed egg at Deodolpan (highly recommended)
If you come to Deodolpan Sanbon Branch, you must order the cheonggukjang!!! It's included in the squid pork stir-fry set, and ₩6,000 if you add it separately.
The cheonggukjang had so many ingredients, and especially so many beans — I loved that. A lot of places skimp on the beans, but here everything was generous haha, loved it.
And the steamed egg comes out huge too! Whenever it got a bit too spicy, a bite of steamed egg would wash the heat right away, so I kept going back for more haha
At first I thought the price was a bit much, but it looked like it had 6-7 eggs' worth in it, so totally worth it! Definitely order it, you'll end up eating way more rice than you planned haha
Side dishes and the self-serve banchan bar
The side dishes here are genuinely delicious too!
The yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi) was perfectly fermented and so good, and wrapping the squid and pork in the seasoned bean sprouts… wow, that's a whole other delicacy.
They bring you the side dishes first, and after that it's a self-serve bar — which was also kept really clean and tidy.
And such a nice touch — there were interdental brushes on the way out haha. You know these are a must too right?? Little details like this made me so happy haha

Final verdict: would I go back to Deodolpan Sanbon Branch?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Even the cheonggukjang and steamed egg were delicious! Would I go back? Yes. We already decided to come try the drinking set next time with mom and dad haha
Deodolpan nails everything from the squid pork stir-fry set to the cheonggukjang, steamed egg, and side dishes — highly recommend if you're stuck on where to eat Korean food in Sanbon!
