Hi, this is Meokkkoja 🤤 I went shopping at the Haeundae Centum department store and ended up craving Chinese food, so I visited Bueokgan Chinese Marine City branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점). The Haeundae branch of Bueokgan had a so-so view, but Marine City's wide-open ocean view is so pretty I really want to recommend it haha.

Dumplings provided as part of a review event

Review event: dumplings! I ordered black vinegar tangsuyuk, gochu ganjajang, and beef jjamppong!

How spicy is the gochu ganjajang?

The gochu ganjajang (₩10,000) has chili stir-fried right into the basic jajang sauce, giving it a really nice spicy kick! It's usually the case that people sprinkle chili powder on jajangmyeon themselves, but this was way tastier than that — total recommend if you like spicy food haha.

So glossy and shiny! The noodles were a bit thicker than regular jajangmyeon noodles, which gave a nice chewy texture too.

Even though it's jajangmyeon, the spiciness was strong enough that it wasn't greasy at all — I think it had been a while since I finished a whole bowl of jajangmyeon haha. Spice level was about like Yeollamyeon!

Beef brisket jjamppong: meat and vegetables instead of seafood

A bowl of beef brisket jjamppong

The beef brisket jjamppong (₩12,000) is exactly what it sounds like — jjamppong loaded with beef! No seafood, but the deep flavor of the broth was great, and there were plenty of vegetables like napa cabbage and onion for good texture.

What I especially loved about this beef jjamppong was just how much brisket was in it! At Bueokgan, the specialty dishes are a bit pricier, but the noodle/rice menu is affordable, so I end up coming back often haha.

The jjamppong noodles were the same as the jajangmyeon noodles, and the broth soaked into them beautifully, so delicious! Next time I'll have to try the jjamppong rice bowl haha. The broth was so good it kept making me think about rice.

Black vinegar tangsuyuk (small): classic batter, not glutinous rice

The small black vinegar tangsuyuk (₩28,000) had absolutely zero gamey meat smell, and you could tell they used good-quality meat. The batter was crispy too — this is a proper classic-style tangsuyuk (not the sticky-rice kind).

The meat was thick and the batter wasn't too thick, so it was the kind of tangsuyuk you can eat a lot of haha. The sauce was sweet and tasty. I also had Bueokgan's cream shrimp, which was genuinely delicious — I'll have to come back next time just for that.

Cross-section of tangsuyuk meat

I thought the tangsuyuk was a bit pricey, but the moment I saw the cross-section of the meat, that thought completely disappeared. The meat quality is great, the sauce coats it well, the batter is crispy, and the sauce itself is delicious, ugh. It's genuinely hard to find a good Chinese restaurant these days, isn't it ㅠㅠ If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant in Haeundae Marine City, Busan, I completely recommend Bueokgan Chinese. Besides Marine City, there are also branches in Haeundae and at the Gijang Shinsegae Outlet, so visit whichever is closest to you haha.

In my book, this is the number one Chinese restaurant in Busan — Bueokgan Chinese Marine City branch! The ocean view is so pretty and the restaurant is spacious enough to feel comfortable. It's clearly a local favorite with a lot of Marine City residents dining here too haha. Total recommend.
