Sokcho café with parents: matcha latte and Neorae Latte at Cafe Neorae

We got to Sokcho early in the morning, had sundubu (soft tofu stew) right next door at Kongbatteul, and headed to Cafe Neorae for coffee. I'd heard it looks out on Seoraksan and Ulsanbawi and has a big interior with all kinds of seating, so I went with my mom and dad haha.

What the big Seoraksan-view café felt like

After a hearty sundubu breakfast, Cafe Neorae was right nearby so we walked straight in haha. The building is big enough to spot from outside, and it has its own parking space, which made it easy for our family to drive over :)

Ocean-view cafés overlooking Sokcho's coast are great, but a Seoraksan café where you rest facing the towering mountains has its own kind of charm. The café entrance is on the 2nd floor, so the moment you walk in it feels like you've stepped into lush green nature - 🍃

On the way up to the 2nd floor there was a spot set up perfectly for photos haha! It's not just a passageway — they've decorated it so you can capture the café's mood in a picture, which I liked a lot ♥♥ Since this was a family trip, my mom got a nice photo there too haha.

Cafe Neorae has high ceilings and a wide-open space, so it should suit anyone looking for a large Sokcho café. There are various table and seat types with generous spacing between them, so it stayed comfortable even with several of us. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows you can see Seoraksan and Ulsanbawi, which makes it so good to just zone out over coffee looking at the view - ♥ We grabbed a table with a good view first, then went back down to the 1st floor to order.

One drink per person: the four we ordered

Cafe Neorae requires one drink per person. We ordered the signature Neorae Latte, the matcha latte my brother loves lol, and an iced café latte and hot Americano for my parents — four drinks in total haha.

They also had cakes on the menu, and since this is Gangwon-do, of course there was sweet corn cream cake — you see it everywhere lol.

There was a whole bakery display on the 1st floor. We'd already filled up on sundubu that morning so we skipped ordering bread this time, but the variety was tempting lol.

If you buy something from the bakery, there's a microwave so you can warm it up haha. Being able to heat your bread to your liking was a surprisingly thoughtful touch!

They accept Kakao Pay and the Sokcho Love Gift Certificate too, so being able to pay by phone was a nice plus.

Four gorgeously colored drinks!! I think chatting away at a café while traveling is one of the best parts of a trip haha.

How the signature Neorae Latte tastes

First, the Neorae Latte I ordered! It's the café's namesake signature drink — a nutty latte topped with sweet Neorae cream, which blends soybean pulp (biji) and cream.

Even though it has biji in it, it wasn't heavy or overly tofu-flavored at all — the smooth cream and coffee blended together into something really nutty and delicious! +_+ If you like tofu, you'll definitely love this. It's a drink you're meant to sip along with the cream, not just through the straw haha.

But the surprise best pick of the day was actually the matcha latte lol. My brother, who's super picky about matcha, took one sip and raved that it was the smoothest matcha latte he'd ever had!! (Quoting his review directly here lol) He said it ranks in his personal top five matcha lattes of all time lol.

I was curious just how good it could be, so I stole a sip too, and yeah — the texture really was smooth and delicious ;; lol

Honestly... lol we came for the Seoraksan view, but every drink was so good that I got genuinely excited and thought I really love this place~~ lol. My brother even begged for one more matcha latte on the way back to Seoul when the trip was over lol;;

Why it's easy for families with babies too

The restrooms were separated by gender and the space was roomy and kept clean.

The women's restroom even had a diaper-changing table set up!! lol These are the kinds of details I notice a lot these days because of my niece...

With its generous seating and convenient restrooms, Cafe Neorae in Sokcho struck me as a Seoraksan café that works well for family travelers with babies too.

If you're looking for a quiet place to have coffee with your parents while traveling in Sokcho, or just want to rest while taking in the Ulsanbawi view, Cafe Neorae might be worth a stop ‥♥

Sipping good coffee with my mom and dad, chatting away with Seoraksan as the backdrop — it added one more happy memory to our family trip haha. Spacious, comfortable seats, a Seoraksan view, and a matcha latte approved by a matcha obsessive! If you're looking for a Seoraksan café with a different kind of view in Sokcho, I'd recommend it :)
