Seomyeon chicken dinner set with rice and cola: Yetnal Tongdak & Tang
In short
Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch is a whole-fried-chicken and dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) restaurant in Seomyeon, Busanjin, Busan. On a second visit the writer ordered the house-recommended sunsal-en-tang set — one whole dakdoritang plus half a boneless fried chicken — with a bowl of rice and a cola, eating it as a dinner without alcohol at a window seat looking out on the street. For a day when you want chicken and a full meal at once, the set at Yetnal Tongdak & Tang works well.

A Seomyeon spot for chicken and a rice meal in one: second visit to Yetnal Tongdak & Tang
I was in Seomyeon trying to figure out where to grab a proper meal and also eat something tasty, and ended up going back to Yetnal Tongdak & Tang after a while. This is actually my second visit here. It's not that common for me to revisit a place I've already been to, but my memory of how good the chicken was last time stuck with me pretty strongly.
So I'd been thinking that if I ever had a reason to go to Seomyeon again, I wanted to stop by here once more. I especially like whole fried chicken and regular fried chicken, so places with good chicken tend to stay in my memory for a surprisingly long time.
This time I wasn't just going for chicken — I went for dinner as well. So I wanted to eat chicken and also something with broth, and while looking through the menu, the set menu caught my eye right away. There was a set menu listed under the recommended items, and I liked that it let me eat several things together. After some thought, I went with the sunsal-en-tang set that day.

The chicken I had on my first visit was better than expected, so naturally I came back for it again this time. Chicken is such a common dish that you'd think it'd taste about the same anywhere, but once you actually eat it, every place has its own little differences — the texture of the batter, the chicken's texture, the seasoning level. My memory of the chicken here suiting my taste made me look forward to this visit too.
This time I ordered something a bit different from last time, and it turned out great since I got to eat a variety of things together. Since I came for a meal, having dakdoritang and fried chicken together in a set worked much better than just chicken alone. It was a day I wanted to eat both chicken and rice, so I think I chose well this time.
What are the window seats like at Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch?
When I walked in and found a seat, I happened to end up right by the window. I personally like window seats, so I felt good the moment I sat down. Since you can see straight outside from the window, it felt a bit like eating outdoors even while sitting inside.
Especially in a busy area like Seomyeon, there's something fun about watching the street outside while you eat. Compared to sitting further inside where it feels a bit closed in, the window side felt more open. On a nice-weather day, a window seat like this would be even better.
You'd think a fried chicken place would be noisy and a bit dim, but sitting by the window that day made the meal feel more relaxed. I visited in the evening, and eating while looking at the scenery outside made for a pretty good atmosphere.

What comes in the sunsal-en-tang set? One dakdoritang plus half a boneless fried chicken
What we ordered that day was the sunsal-en-tang set. Our set came with one whole dakdoritang plus half a boneless fried chicken. One thing I liked while looking over the menu was that there was a separate set menu among the recommended items. When there are lots of menu options, it can be hard to decide what to order on a first visit or after a long time away, so having a set makes the choice a bit easier.
For someone like me who came for a meal and wanted to eat a bit of everything, the set menu suited me well. Just from the name, you could tell it was a menu combining chicken and stew, and the actual portions were generous too. Being able to order two things together instead of just one also seems like a good option for a group.
They said the dakdoritang can be changed to boneless, but after some thought I ordered it with the bone in that day. I like eating dakdoritang with bone-in chicken too, so I just went with the default option this time. And the fried chicken was boneless, so it was easy to eat. Eating the dakdoritang with rice and its broth, then picking at the fried chicken in between, made for a good combination.

Bone-in dakdoritang or boneless: which to pick at Yetnal Tongdak & Tang
Since I came for a meal that day, having dakdoritang included was especially nice. Eating chicken alone can feel more like a snack or a drinking side dish, but with dakdoritang in the mix, it felt like a real dinner. The broth made it easy to eat with rice, and the chicken worked almost like a side dish too.
I like mixing a bit of rice into the dakdoritang broth or eating it together with the chicken, so I ordered a bowl of rice to go with it that day. I was pleasantly surprised the rice bowl was fuller than expected. Some places skimp on rice, but here they packed the bowl generously, so it felt filling. Since I'd come hungry, having plenty of rice too made it feel like a proper meal.
As I mentioned earlier, the dakdoritang can also be changed to boneless. I personally like bone-in chicken in dakdoritang, so I ordered it that way this time. If you find picking bones out a hassle, switching to boneless would make eating much easier. On the other hand, if you enjoy the fun of picking meat off the bone like I do, the default option works fine too.
This really comes down to personal preference. I found myself thinking that next time, I might try the boneless dakdoritang. Even the same dish probably feels different when it's boneless.

Dinner with cola instead of beer, alternating with the boneless fried chicken
I also tried the boneless fried chicken included in the set. Since the chicken was memorable from my last visit, I was looking forward to this one too. As expected, fried chicken needs no explanation — it's the kind of dish your hand just keeps reaching for, like a snack.
I'd eat some dakdoritang, then grab a piece of fried chicken, then go back to rice, then grab another piece of fried chicken. Eating this way, I didn't get tired of it as quickly as I expected. Being boneless made it especially convenient since there was no need to pick out bones. Eating chicken alongside rice made the meal feel really substantial that day.
Usually a meal like this might make you think of alcohol, but since I came for dinner that day, I ordered a cola instead. Drinking cola while eating the dakdoritang and fried chicken together worked well for a meal. Especially after the spicy dakdoritang, a sip of cola felt refreshing, and I kept reaching for it.
Eating comfortably without alcohol that day actually let me focus more on the food itself, which I liked. When having dinner with friends or a partner in Seomyeon, you don't necessarily need alcohol — eating chicken and dakdoritang together like this works fine as a meal too.

The bowl of rice at Yetnal Tongdak & Tang was a generous portion
Something I was quietly happy about was the rice. I ordered a bowl and it came packed pretty full, which I liked. Rice tends to disappear faster than expected when you eat it with dakdoritang broth, but the portion here was generous enough to keep up with the food.
Even if the food is delicious, I find it a bit disappointing when the rice portion is too small, but that day I had no such regrets. Between the whole dakdoritang, half a boneless fried chicken, and the rice, it was a genuinely filling meal.
Ordering the set this time made me realize that eating dishes with different characters together is more fun than sticking to just one dish. Dakdoritang is a warm, broth-based dish that goes well with rice, while boneless fried chicken is great for crispy bites in between. So whenever I got a bit tired of one, I'd switch to the other, and ended up enjoying the meal all the way through.
For groups especially, everyone might want something different, and a set like this is a good option since it lets you try a variety of things together. If we'd only ordered one menu item that day, it might have felt a bit lacking, but having two dishes together gave us the fun of picking between them.

Second visit verdict on the Seomyeon sunsal-en-tang set
Seomyeon has so many good restaurants that it's always hard to decide where to go, but for someone like me who loves chicken and also wants a proper meal, a place like Yetnal Tongdak & Tang works well. Chicken alone is nice, but pairing it with dakdoritang like this makes for a fully satisfying meal. Having a broth-based dish alongside dinner really does raise the satisfaction level.
I'd already been here once, and my memory of the chicken from that first visit was good enough that I made this second trip. So I naturally came back, and this time I got to try a different combination through the set menu, which I enjoyed.
I also personally liked sitting at the window seat that day. Even while eating inside, being able to see outside meant it didn't feel closed in, and there was a slight outdoor-dining feeling to it. Especially if you're visiting with friends or a partner, sitting by the window and watching outside while eating slowly seems like a nice option. If seating choice is available, I'd want to check the window side first next time too. Food matters, but where you sit also changes the atmosphere of the meal a little. That day, the window seat made the whole meal feel more relaxed.
This was my second visit, and once again I left satisfied. My good memory of the chicken from before brought me back, and this time I ordered the sunsal-en-tang set from the recommended set menu. It came with one whole dakdoritang and half a boneless fried chicken — the dakdoritang can be made boneless, but I ordered it bone-in that day. Since I'd come for a meal, I also ordered a bowl of rice, which came generously filled, making for a filling meal with the dakdoritang. Adding cola made it a comfortable no-alcohol dinner. Alternating between dakdoritang and fried chicken made for a good combination. And sitting at the window seat that day, with the outside view, gave the inside of the restaurant an outdoor-dining feel that I personally liked.

If I'm ever wondering where to go for chicken or whole fried chicken in Seomyeon, I think Yetnal Tongdak & Tang will come to mind again. I'd already been here once, but my memory of how good the chicken was brought me back for a second visit, and this time I tried dakdoritang and fried chicken together through the set menu.
Especially on a day like this when I wanted both chicken and rice, the sunsal-en-tang set fit really well. With one whole dakdoritang and half a boneless fried chicken, you can enjoy several dishes at once, and the option to switch the dakdoritang to boneless is nice too, letting you choose according to your taste. I ordered bone-in dakdoritang this time, but next time I might try switching to boneless.
The rice bowl was also generously filled, which paired well with the food, and with a cola on the side, it made for a filling, satisfying meal. Above all, even on a second visit I could eat comfortably, and sitting at the window seat, which felt like eating outdoors, made it a memorable experience.
If you're looking for a Busan whole-chicken restaurant or a Seomyeon fried chicken spot and want to eat not just chicken but a broth dish like dakdoritang too, it's worth checking out the set menu. Like me, having a place you keep going back to because of a good memory of the chicken is a nice feeling in its own way. Next time I'm in Seomyeon and thinking about chicken, I'll probably stop by again ^_^
