Waxing salon in Seomyeon, Busan: eyebrow and upper lip wax, Aeri

Even in summer I always stuck to short sleeves — honestly, I could count on one hand the times I've ever worn sleeveless. No matter how much I worked out, that arm fat just wouldn't budge. To cut to the chase, out of the Seomyeon esthetics diet treatments I've tried, this one was pretty good. Now that age-related weight gain is hard to shift with exercise alone, treatments like this are a nice option. Here's my honest review of Aeri Seomyeon Waxing!

Since it's on the 5th floor of the PK Building, you just take the elevator up. There's a banner near the elevator too, so it's easy to find.

First impressions: swapping into slippers at the door

Once you get off the elevator on the 5th floor, you're there.

Take off your shoes, swap into slippers, and let's head in together.

As soon as you walk in, you see all sorts of treatment products on display. The clean interior gives off a trustworthy vibe.

I barely ever go to esthetics studios, so all these products were fascinating to me. Feels like I'm about to be initiated into the world of skincare treatments!

The staff were kind and explained everything in detail.

After a consultation about which area to treat, I decided on the TNT arm care. It really did feel like a systematic, well-organized process.

Inside the treatment rooms and the waxing area

Clean white and wood tones — pretty, right? Walking in, there's a treatment room.

This is where waxing happens. There are all kinds of waxing supplies here. I sat in the chair for my eyebrow and philtrum treatment, and the esthetician's hands were seriously fast — loved it! They use genuine LYCON wax too. It didn't hurt at all, best best!! I didn't manage to snap a photo of this part though.

Now onto the TNT treatment zone.

I heard a TV playing and wondered what it was — turns out there's a TV so you don't get bored while waiting! The angle was perfect. They had 'Divorce Court Waiting Room' on. Dopamine hit.

What is TNT body care and how does it work?

TNT is a body-only treatment offered at Aeri Seomyeon Waxing. It's not needles or incisions — it's non-invasive. Pads are attached to the area and forcibly contract the muscles, apparently. These contractions are said to help with body slimming and muscle therapy.

That's a phrase they had on display, and it really is that simple — all you do is lie still. You can choose one treatment area from abdomen, back, arms, or legs. I chose arms, and lay there with the pads on for about 40 minutes. It felt like little tingling electrical pulses. It was a bit unfamiliar at first, but the practitioner explained it mimics the effect of exercise. Could be a good option for anyone who struggles to find time to actually work out.

What 40 minutes of TNT arm care actually feels like

TNT is supposed to help with body slimming by forcing the muscles to contract. Once the pads were on my arm, I felt those tingling electrical pulses. 'Is this really okay?' I thought at first — a bit unfamiliar — but once they said it feels similar to working out, I adjusted quickly.

I had it for about 40 minutes, and afterward my arm felt warm and like it had actually been worked. Since you just lie down the whole time, there was no need to exert any effort myself, which was nice and easy. Seems like a decent option for anyone who doesn't have time to exercise separately. Guess I need to get my belly done next... lol.

I also got my eyebrows and philtrum waxed at the same time, and it really was over in an instant. The stinging was much less than I'd worried about, and the esthetician explained everything kindly, so it felt comfortable. Apparently you can also get a soothing treatment right after the waxing.

Is Aeri Seomyeon Waxing worth a visit? Final verdict

This was my first time trying a Seomyeon esthetics diet treatment, at Aeri Seomyeon Waxing. The electrical stimulation felt unfamiliar, but since it's supposed to mimic exercise, it wasn't bad. The eyebrow and philtrum waxing was over so quickly that it felt low-pressure. The staff were kind and explained everything thoroughly, which made the whole experience comfortable. I'd recommend it to anyone weighing up diet treatments, body care, or waxing.
