What kind of place is Tongkeun Shabu in Hakdong, Yeosu?
Tongkeun Shabu is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu place on Mangma-ro in Hakdong, near Yeosu City Hall. I went with a group and got to pick from four different broths to suit everyone's taste — a well-known spot for shabu-shabu in this part of Yeosu.

This place turned out to be really famous as an all-you-can-eat spot near Yeosu City Hall~ Tongkeun Shabu, known for its fresh ingredients and tasty broth.

Where is Tongkeun Shabu and what are its hours?
- Address: 25 Mangma-ro, 3rd floor, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, South Korea
- Hours: 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM
- Parking: use the area behind the building, or the public parking lot
A wide hall with booths that fits group gatherings
Tongkeun Shabu's dining hall is really spacious, so there are plenty of seats for group gatherings, and the open feel means conversation doesn't get drowned out even when it's crowded. The tables are just as generously sized as the room, which matters because shabu-shabu tends to pile up a lot of side plates!
Four broths at Tongkeun Shabu and what each costs extra
- Basic broth
- Mala broth +₩4,000
- Sukiyaki broth +₩4,000
- Chicken bone broth +₩2,000

The basic broth is clean and light, the mala broth has that punchy spicy kick, the sukiyaki broth tastes like Japanese-style bulgogi, and the chicken bone broth is rich, savory, and deeply flavorful.

What is on the all-you-can-eat salad bar and shabu counter?
Tongkeun Shabu's biggest strength is the combination of all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and a full salad bar.

Spaghetti, pizza, sweet and sour pork, fried chicken, yangnyeom chicken, jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles), galbi (short ribs) — there was really something for everyone, from kids to adults~

The spaghetti was actually seasoned just right and delicious. Honestly better than plenty of dedicated Western restaurants~

The jjolmyeon had that sweet-and-tangy sauce that really hit the spot for my taste!

Sushi zone and dessert, including chocolate fondue
There's dessert fruit and chocolate fondue too, so you can finish your meal and dessert coffee all in one place~~

A meal of unlimited beef belly and pork neck

We kept bringing over beef belly and pork neck as much as we wanted, plus vegetables, sushi, salad, and fruit for dessert — genuinely enough variety to make one meal feel completely worth it.

Sushi, salad, spaghetti, jjolmyeon, fried rice, pizza, memil-myeon (buckwheat noodles). Korean, Chinese, and Western food all prepared here, so you can eat whatever suits your taste~

We loved having so much variety, but we mostly loaded up on vegetable and mushroom shabu-shabu. Since we've been a bit health and diet conscious lately, we just sampled the spaghetti, jjolmyeon, and chicken~ Wanted more but held back... haha

We ate really well~ It was great that kids could pick from chocolate fondue and drinks too, and eat a bit of everything. There's pomegranate and plum drinks too~ Great to finish off with something carbonated.

Seating tip near the salad bar, and the verdict on Tongkeun Shabu
If you're looking for an all-you-can-eat spot in Yeosu, I'd recommend Tongkeun Shabu because of the spacious hall and the well-rounded menu with something for everyone! The staff were friendly and explained things well, and of course the food was fresh and tasty too!
If you want to eat a lot and eat fast, grab a seat near the salad bar so you can go back and forth quickly. That's the tip! We ended up at a seat farther away, haha — good for conversation, and we liked having the booth and the extra space, but it was a bit of a hassle having to walk further to get food...
Definitely do the review event. If you leave a review, you get a plate of hanwoo shabu-shabu on the house.
