Suwon Gwanggyo restaurant, squid ink arancini for two: The European
In short
The European Gwanggyo is a European-style wood-fired pizza restaurant on the Gwanggyo café street in Suwon, Gyeonggi. Two diners ordered truffle cream gnocchi, squid ink arancini and a rocket burrata jamon pizza, and nearly finished all three despite the generous portions, with the mushrooms in the gnocchi sauce and the loaded pizza toppings the standouts. Chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows across the two floors make The European Gwanggyo an easy pick for a date or a first meeting.

The European Gwanggyo had such a pretty overall vibe and the food was great too, so it was perfect for a blind date or a date night! Even the chandelier felt fancy, and it kept me in a good mood the whole meal. If you want both taste and atmosphere, I'd recommend this place. If you love rocket burrata hamon pizza, you have to come try how loaded the toppings are! hahahahahaha
Where is The European Gwanggyo, and is there parking?
A parking lot right out front!

The European Gwanggyo has a parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Perfect for a driving date, or a little outing. It's on the Gwanggyo café street, so you can hit a café right after your meal — very convenient.

Sunlight pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows made the whole atmosphere feel really nice and upscale.

Two floors of European decor and chandeliers
The first thing that caught my eye walking in was the huge chandelier. With the European-style interior, the whole atmosphere felt quite upscale and pretty!

The place is spread across two floors, so it's spacious enough that the tables never feel cramped — I thought it would work well for a group gathering or a family meal, too. And with such a nice atmosphere, it's also great for a blind date or date night. It felt like you could enjoy delicious food and a pretty space at the same time.
Three dishes two people ordered at The European Gwanggyo
Truffle cream gnocchi, squid ink arancini, rocket burrata hamon pizza

We ordered three dishes: truffle cream gnocchi, squid ink arancini, and rocket burrata hamon pizza. Three dishes for two people is not a small amount, but in the end we finished almost all of it, haha. That day was basically our one proper meal of the day.

Truffle cream gnocchi, packed with mushrooms
First up, the truffle cream gnocchi! I care a lot about the sauce when I eat gnocchi, and this one was genuinely delicious.

The cream sauce was thick and rich with a subtle hint of truffle, and best of all, it was loaded with mushrooms — very satisfying.
If you love mushrooms, you'll especially love this. The gnocchi itself was nutty and soft with the sauce, so I kept reaching for more. Scooping up a big spoonful of mushrooms with the sauce was the best part, haha.

Squid ink arancini: crisp shell, nutty rice inside
Next, the squid ink arancini! The outside was fried and crispy, and the rice inside was nutty, so the contrast in texture was fun.

The distinctive savory flavor of the squid ink went well with the rice, and biting through the crispy shell into the moist, nutty rice made it a real treat.

Frying rice like this instead of just eating it plain definitely made it feel special, and it was a great dish to pick at one piece at a time between the pizza and gnocchi.

Rocket burrata jamon wood-fired pizza and its huge toppings
And then the main event we'd been looking forward to, the rocket burrata hamon pizza! What can I say about wood-fired pizza… it's just delicious, haha.

The dough had a nutty, chewy quality, and being baked in the wood oven, it was tasty all the way to the edge. Above all, the toppings piled on top were genuinely enormous, which made for a very satisfying pizza. With a generous amount of rocket plus burrata and hamon on top, you could taste several different flavors in a single slice!

The soft, nutty burrata, the salty hamon, and the aroma of the rocket all came together, and the whole pizza disappeared in no time. It wasn't just a pizza with good dough — the generous toppings made it even better. Doesn't the hamon have such a beautiful color?

Is three dishes too much food for two people?
In the end, the two of us walked out having eaten almost all three dishes, haha. The portions were bigger than expected so we were incredibly full, but it was so good we kept eating anyway…

We decided this would simply be our one meal of the day. Dieting takes a back seat on days like this — it's all about eating something delicious!
Nom nom, so full

With a pretty European atmosphere and delicious food, this is a place I'd recommend for a blind date or a date night. The wood-fired pizza especially, with its loaded toppings and great dough, is something I'd love to come back for><
