Why Yukhoe Dokjon works as a second-round bar near Suwon Station
After finishing our first round of drinks, I was looking for a light second-round spot, and I thought of something cleaner to enjoy than grilled meat, so I headed to Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch haha.
It was a lovely time chatting comfortably with a friend I hadn't seen in a while while enjoying fresh food!

What we ordered at Yukhoe Dokjon and what it cost
Once seated, we ordered abalone hanwoo yukhoe (₩32,000) and hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap (₩10,000) as our second-round food and drink pairing haha.
Abalone hanwoo yukhoe, 32,000 won

The abalone hanwoo yukhoe (₩32,000) arrived first, served on a large, substantial plate with sesame-sprinkled hanwoo beef tartare and freshly prepared sliced abalone neatly arranged together.

In the center sat a cute little egg yolk served separately, along with thinly sliced crisp pear, radish sprouts, and perilla leaves. I loved that there were so many ways to combine everything!
Breaking the yolk over the yukhoe spread a savory flavor through my mouth, and combined with the fresh, chewy texture of the abalone, it was just right to pick at as a second-round pairing.

Depending on your taste, wrapping it in perilla leaf with pear gave a nice variety of flavors even within one plate haha.

It was savory yet chewy, and just right for chatting over while eating. Freshness is everything when it comes to yukhoe, right~~
Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap, 10,000 won

The hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap (₩10,000) we added as our meal came in a bowl generously topped with rice, fresh vivid-red yukhoe, egg yolk, carrots, bean sprouts, cucumber, seaweed flakes, and more.

Mixing it all together and taking a big spoonful, the rice grains, crisp vegetables, and chewy yukhoe worked really well together haha. It had been a while since I had yukhoe bibimbap, and it was so delicious..
Even though it was our second round, this dish filled us up nicely — a menu item I'll remember fondly from this bar near Suwon Station. If you're looking for a healthy meal out or a light drinking snack, this is the place!

For reference, this place also offers other options like live octopus hanwoo yukhoe served with fresh live octopus, stir-fried hanwoo sashimi, and hanwoo yukhoe sushi, so there's plenty to choose from depending on your taste.
