Squid bossam: what's on the plate and how it tastes

First up was the squid bossam, which came with boiled pork belly, blanched squid, bossam kimchi, salted oyster (eorigulit), chive salad, and wrap vegetables — the presentation alone caught my eye 🤤

The pollack stew's got some serious spice to it~~

The boiled pork belly had no gamey taste at all — nutty, soft, and best eaten topped with bossam kimchi or chive salad.

I dipped the blanched squid in chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) and wrapped it up with the pork, and also tried piling salted oyster onto crisp inner cabbage leaves — both combos were excellent!

The big-pot spicy pollack stew (dongtaetang)

Next came the yangpuni (big metal pot) spicy pollack stew included in the set, piled high with scallion strips and plenty of ingredients that were a pleasure just to look at.

Once it had simmered and bubbled away on the burner, the broth turned out spicy and sharp — the kind you keep scooping up spoonful after spoonful.

The pollack flesh was firm and there was plenty of roe and milt, so dipping it lightly in soy sauce made for a really filling meal 🤍

Finishing with cold mul naengmyeon

To finish, I poured the icy broth over the naengmyeon included in the set, mixed it well, and finished it off cleanly.

Overall, in a spacious dining room, you get to enjoy a rich variety from squid bossam to pollack stew to naengmyeon, all in generous portions — a great place to spend a meal with a group. The noodles were chewy and well-cooked, and the cool, refreshing broth was just right for cleansing the palate after the meat and pollack stew 🤤
