Today I'm sharing a thorough review of 'Cheongwon Restaurant,' a fantastic-value budae-jjigae (army stew) specialist located in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan — easy to get to, and you can enjoy unlimited rice and ramyeon noodles too! The restaurant is spacious and clean, and it's a perfect spot to fill up. Let me walk you through the visit and some tips for eating it right. 😊

Where is Cheongwon Restaurant? Location, parking and hours
Cheongwon Restaurant is located in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, and there's a dedicated parking space in front for about 3-4 cars. 🚗 It's open from 11 AM to 9 PM with no break time, so it's really easy to swing by whenever suits you! ⏰

Inside Cheongwon Restaurant: a hall big enough for solo meals or group dinners
The restaurant space is spacious and clean, so I noticed a few solo diners here and there, along with plenty of couples and families. There's also a private room-style space that would work well for a group dinner, and having a restroom inside makes it really convenient. 👍

Unlimited rice and ramyeon noodles, plus broth at every table
At Cheongwon, rice and ramyeon (instant noodle) sari (add-in noodles) are provided unlimited, so you can help yourself without feeling awkward about it! Plus, broth is set up at every table in advance, so when the soup runs low you can top it up generously without having to ask anyone — this was the best part.

For basic side dishes, you get sweet-and-salty stir-fried fish cake, nicely fermented kimchi, and a bean sprout salad that's loaded with sesame oil flavor and just salty enough to be seriously delicious. That bean sprout salad is genuinely amazing — good enough to polish off a whole bowl of rice with just that alone!
Songtan-style vs Cheongwon-style budae-jjigae: what's the difference?
Cheongwon Restaurant's signature dishes are 'Songtan-style budae-jjigae' and 'Cheongwon-style budae-jjigae.' They also sell pork cutlet as a side, so it's a great option even if you're visiting with kids who can't handle spicy food!

- Songtan-style budae-jjigae: the classic, familiar budae-jjigae flavor we all know, but with 1++ grade Korean beef mince added for a deep, heavy broth.
- Cheongwon-style budae-jjigae: takes the Songtan-style version and adds cheongyang chili and beef brisket for a spicier, even richer flavor.

Tips before you start eating
There's also a review event running, so be sure to join in when you visit! There are tips for eating it the tasty way written on the wall, so read those too — and most importantly, wait until the staff comes to open the lid! If you wait, they'll come over and skillfully break up the clumped beef mince and sauce on top for you, which makes it taste even better.
How was the Songtan-style budae-jjigae for 3 with extra sausage?
What we ordered was Songtan-style budae-jjigae for 3 servings with extra sausage added! Just looking at it, the pot looked absolutely overflowing with food 🤤 There are three types of ham in it, plus a generous heap of fresh shredded scallions and onions on top. It's delicious whether you eat the scallions with the ham or in any combination — everything tastes amazing. The ham kept coming no matter how much we scooped, the portion was genuinely generous!

As the broth started reducing while we ate, we added plenty more, and threw in the unlimited ramyeon noodles too, eating until we were completely stuffed and 'poof-pah'-ed our way out. I'd been trying to cut down on carbs lately, but the ramyeon noodles in budae-jjigae were so good after a long time that my eyes went wide and I overate — a sad but funny story... 🤣

Is Cheongwon Restaurant worth it? Final verdict
Cheongwon Restaurant apparently offers a free egg roll for lunch visitors before 11:30 AM, so if you're heading over early, make sure to grab that perk! If you're looking for the best-value budae-jjigae restaurant in Dujeong-dong, where you can enjoy delicious stew along with unlimited rice and ramyeon noodles to fill up, I highly recommend stopping by 'Cheongwon Restaurant.' 🥰
