Dirty choco salt bread and espresso Albero: Frank Coffee Bar Dunsan

In short

Frank Coffee Bar Daejeon Dunsan Branch is a European-style roastery café in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. The writer picked the dirty choco salt bread from a lineup of 15 flavors, paired it with a matcha latte, decaf americano, and a complimentary espresso Albero, and loved the sweet-salty combo of rich chocolate and crispy-fluffy salt bread best. On days when the full-length window is thrown open it even feels like a European sidewalk café — a solid coffee-and-salt-bread spot in Dunsan-dong.

Exterior of Frank Coffee Bar in Dunsan-dong

European-style from the outside — the vibe on days with the window open

Frank Coffee Bar is famous for its European-style interior that makes you feel like you're abroad! This was my first visit to the Dunsan branch, and I was already excited from the exterior — it's just so pretty, haha.

Even the little props are cute and detailed — totally my style ✨

With its wood-tone interior and low lighting, the overall mood is calm, but the vintage props scattered around give it an exotic feel too — a café bursting with atmosphere!

The day we visited the weather was so nice that they had fully opened the full-length window on one side of the café, and it felt just like sitting at a sidewalk café on a trip in Europe — instant healing 🌿 (saved on airfare ^_^)

Matcha latte, decaf americano, espresso Albero and dirty choco salt bread

The dirty choco salt bread and espresso Albero combo

Matcha latte | Decaf americano | Espresso Albero / Dirty choco salt bread

Dirty choco salt bread cut and served

The decaf americano had a slight acidity but was overall nutty-tasting, so even though it was decaf I enjoyed drinking it. The matcha latte had that pleasantly bitter matcha flavor, making it an easy latte for matcha beginners to try!

There were so many flavors that I agonized over it, but I picked the dirty choco salt bread! They cut it into easy-to-eat pieces first.

I took one bite and it was so good I lost my mind, then halfway through I snapped out of it and scrambled to take photos, haha. The chocolate on top of the salt bread is completely thick and rich — genuinely delicious. The salt bread itself is crispy outside, moist inside, and the butter flavor really comes through. It's not too sweet or too salty — the sweet-salty combo is insane 🔥

The espresso Albero was a complimentary item I received through the Naver notification service, and its dark flavor was outstanding — the perfect match with the dirty choco salt bread,,,❤️ Take a bite of the salt bread, then a sip of espresso, and suddenly you're in Italy. Highly recommend the dirty choco salt bread — officially certifying this as a coffee-and-salt-bread spot in Dunsan-dong 👍
