Baegot Korean BBQ with three aged pork cuts: Hamdon Baegot
In short
Hamdon Baegot is an aged-pork Korean BBQ restaurant in the Baegot new town district of Siheung, Gyeonggi. The writer ordered one serving each of aged pork jowl, aged five-layer pork belly and raw galmaegisal (pork skirt meat) to compare the three cuts, and the table filled up with minari (water celery) wraps and a large bowl of bone soup that came included. What stayed with the writer most was how much this pork tasted like beef.

I went for meat in Baegot, and this time it wasn't just the meat that stuck with me — the complimentary side dishes did too 🥩 The place was Hamdon Baegot 🍖

The most striking thing first: eating pork that tasted like beef 😮 That's just my personal palate talking, but it genuinely surprised me while eating 🩷

On top of that, minari (water celery) wraps and bone soup came free, so the table felt even more generous 😁 For anyone hunting for good food in Baegot, let me lay out what we ordered that day and what stood out 🍀

What Hamdon Baegot looks like inside, and the seating
The outside of Hamdon Baegot was decorated with a kind of Jeju Island feel (?) 🍀 A dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue) greets you haha 😁

Inside, every table had its own grill and ventilation hood, and you could check the menu right from a screen on the table! There was also a paper menu on hand 📍

While waiting for the meat, I took photos of the basic table setup too 🩷

The side dishes for the meat came in several separate bowls ☺️ The plate piled high with minari and the bone soup caught my eye first 😎
What the writer ordered: one serving each of three pork cuts
At Hamdon Baegot we didn't stick to one cut — we ordered one serving each of aged pork jowl, aged pork belly, and raw galmaegisal (skirt meat) ☺️ The minari wraps and bone soup weren't extras we added — they came free at the time of our visit 🩷

It was a setup that let us try all three cuts at once! We paired it with rice and beer! Looking at the meat on the plates, each cut had a different shape, which made comparing them kind of fun haha 😁 The meat came thick-cut, with mushrooms on the side too 🍄 Capturing it before grilling shows exactly what we had that day haha

Does aged pork really taste like beef?
What stuck with me most at Hamdon Baegot was, of course, the meat 🥩 It was genuinely delicious!!
It was strange thinking of beef while eating pork haha! It tasted different from the pork I usually expect, which made it even more memorable ☺️ I think it's probably because it's aged meat haha
Why does this pork taste like beef?
Rather than explaining the flavor at length, that one line probably sums up the day best 😎 Watching those thick cuts of meat pick up sear marks on the grill had me practically drooling before I'd even taken a bite 🩷

The minari wraps that come included
I also want to mention the minari wraps served alongside the meat 🍀 The plate was piled generously with minari with a sauce set in the middle! It felt like a totally different setup from a table that's just meat 🩷
What I really loved was that you don't have to order the minari wraps separately — they just come free ☺️ With three cuts of meat plus this side dish, the table looked even more lavish! If you're the type who cares about the free side dishes as much as the meat itself when picking a spot in Baegot, this is worth noting 👍
How big is the complimentary bone soup?
Something I want to talk about as much as the meat this time is the bone soup 🦴 It was especially striking that it wasn't a separately ordered dish — it just came free! I expected something like a small side soup, but the portion was quite substantial! Scooping the bone soup from its big bowl into my small plate, I even spotted large bones in it 👍 Looking back at the photos, the free spread was really generous 😊
Coming for meat and getting a delicious bone soup on top made the meal feel even more complete 😋 We also ordered 2 bowls of rice to go with the meat and soup 😎 The meat tasting good matters, of course, but when the side dishes are also this good, the restaurant stays in your memory longer! For me, that's the role the bone soup played at Hamdon Baegot 👍
That day my husband said he couldn't not order a beer because the meat was so good, so we got one 🍻 Kelly really is... the truth ...👍 The aged pork jowl, aged pork belly, and raw galmaegisal we had that day were genuinely satisfying because the meat itself was delicious. Especially memorable for my palate was that beef-like taste haha

Thanks to the free minari wraps and the generous, tasty bone soup, the meal felt even more filling 🤍 If you're looking for a Korean BBQ spot in Baegot and care about what comes alongside the meat, this combination might be worth trying 😋 I'll leave my visit record for Hamdon Baegot here, with fond memories of the great meat and the hearty bone soup ☺️
