Daegu café for reading with kids and forest views: Hands Coffee

Whenever I want to catch my breath amid a busy daily life, I find that a delicious cup of coffee while looking at the green trees spread out before me is the best kind of healing.

The place I visited was Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점), one of Daegu's beloved large cafés.

Its grand exterior caught my eye from a distance. The Hands Coffee brand is already known for good coffee, so I walked in with high expectations. This branch is especially large, and its wonderfully open feel was a real highlight.

Forest views that change from floor 2 to floor 4

One of the biggest draws here is that the entire building, from the second through fourth floors, is used as a café. There is an elevator, so getting around was easy, and each floor had a slightly different atmosphere. Order on the second floor! As soon as you enter, you will find the ordering area.

Window seats on the third and fourth floors are the best spots

Third and fourth floors: these are the real prime seats! My daughter ended up reading a book at this forest-view café. Isn't the atmosphere lovely???

The fourth floor even has a rooftop. As soon as I went up, a refreshing forest view opened beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows; seeing all the trees spread out below was spectacular. You can also clearly see the Dongchon Resort bridge in the distance, and I imagine the night view must be stunning when the lights come on.

Sunlight filtering through the blinds blended with the green trees, and simply sitting there felt restorative. There was even the fun of taking in all the trees—pointed ones, round ones, tall ones, low ones.

The fun of browsing charming little decorations

It is not just a large space. The café is filled throughout with charming little decorations that show the owner's eye for detail, making it so enjoyable to look around. From artwork on the walls and unique furniture to cute plant terrariums, it almost felt like stepping into a small gallery. The children kept saying everything was pretty and told me to take lots and lots of photos.

Rich coffee, roll cake, and baked treats

Of course, coffee flavor is the most important thing at a café, right? Hands Coffee did not disappoint. Along with its deep, rich coffee aroma, it offered a wide range of brunch dishes and desserts to choose from.

While taking in the forest view, I enjoyed delicious coffee with sweet roll cake and baked desserts chosen by the children themselves, and I thought, could this be happiness? 💕 If you are looking for a wonderful brunch spot in Dong-gu, Daegu, where both children and adults can be happy, I strongly recommend this place. When you visit Dongchon Resort with your child, bring a book and a coloring book and stay for a little while.

• The best seats are by the windows on the third and fourth floors! Visit early and be sure to take in the fantastic forest view beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows.
