Seonyudo Park burger restaurant: two burger sets compared, BAS Burger

In short

BAS Burger Seonyudo is a handmade burger restaurant right in front of Exit 4 of Seonyudo Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Before walking over to Seonyudo Park, the writer ordered the BAS Burger set with French fries and the Hawaiian Burger set with sweet potato fries and ranch sauce, and kept scooping up the free unlimited potato chips while they were still warm. Between the two, the pineapple-topped Hawaiian Burger beat the plain, clean-tasting original.

Trying to figure out what to grab before heading to Seonyudo Park, I ended up at BAS Burger Seonyudo! I'd been craving a handmade burger for a while, and figured a solid meal before the park would be perfect, so off I went haha.

Where BAS Burger Seonyudo is and when it opens

BAS Burger Seonyudo is on the 1st floor of 118-1 Yangpyeong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, just 18m from Exit 4 of Seonyudo Station (Line 9). It's open daily from 08:00 to 21:30, with takeout only from 08:00 to 10:30, and there's no parking.

You see it right as you come out of Exit 4 at Seonyudo Station!! It wasn't hard to find at all, and the clean exterior caught my eye immediately haha.

Entrance sign at BAS Burger Seonyudo

Looks like a proper handmade burger sign, right? There's a sign right at the entrance so it's easy to spot haha.

Inside BAS Burger Seonyudo: atmosphere and seating

Walking into BAS Burger Seonyudo, the space was bigger than expected and had a clean, tidy vibe overall!

Pub-like dining hall at BAS Burger Seonyudo

It's got a bit of a pub feel with a slightly exotic touch, which makes the burgers taste even better somehow haha.

Window-side table seating at BAS Burger Seonyudo

The window-side tables feel brighter!? Great spot to sit comfortably and enjoy a burger!!

A lot of people seem to grab takeout here on their way to Seonyudo Park!!!

Unlimited potato chips and the sauce corner

And oh!!! Here's BAS Burger's own special perk!!! These homemade potato chips are unlimited refill, haha, and they stay warm!

Sauce corner offering a variety of options for sets and fries

If you order a set or fries, you can also choose a sauce, and there were quite a lot of options — great for eating exactly to your taste haha.

What we ordered: the BAS Burger set and the Hawaiian Burger set

Ordering is done through the kiosk at each table. The menu was way bigger than I expected lol. Lots of burger types plus sides and drinks, so after some deliberation!!! We went with the BAS Burger set (French fries) and the Hawaiian Burger set (sweet potato fries / ranch sauce).

Then I dutifully went back for another round of those potato chips haha. Honestly I'd come back to BAS Burger just for these (they're seriously good).

A plate piled with homemade potato chips

With the chips piled on, our whole order was finally laid out on the table!! haha

Two burger sets on the table with French fries and sweet potato fries

Turns out BAS Burger lets you swap the fries for sweet potato fries!? Amazing news for sweet potato lovers. But since I like regular fries too, we ordered both, of course.

Cross-section of the BAS Burger showing the large romaine lettuce

The burger looked almost like a display model, so cute lol. And the romaine lettuce was huge!? haha

The original BAS Burger on the left, Hawaiian Burger on the right

How the original BAS Burger tastes

On the left is the original BAS Burger, on the right the Hawaiian! I started with the classic BAS Burger first! It's fully loaded with the basics — patty, cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato!! One bite in, the savory patty came through together with the fresh vegetables, giving it an overall clean, mild flavor haha.

Hawaiian Burger with bacon and pineapple

How the Hawaiian Burger tastes

And then the one I was curious about — the Hawaiian Burger! It's the BAS Burger with bacon and pineapple added, and the combo worked better than I expected lol. The pineapple especially added a sweet, slightly tangy note that made it feel totally different from the original. Savory patty + salty bacon + sweet pineapple made for a sweet-salty combo that kept me reaching for more.

If the original BAS Burger is clean and mild, the Hawaiian Burger brings a sweet pineapple twist — the two have totally different appeal haha. Personally, the Hawaiian Burger was more my style lol.

Final verdict, coming right up

Verdict: is BAS Burger Seonyudo a good meal before Seonyudo Park?

Being right in front of Seonyudo Station, I stopped by for a quick bite before the park, and it turned out much better than expected. The burgers were great, but honestly the unlimited potato chips were the real highlight for me, and the variety of sauces made it easy to eat exactly to my taste haha!! BAS Burger is a great stop whether you want a solid meal before Seonyudo Park or just a light handmade burger. Thanks for the meal!
