Today I'm bringing you an honest review of Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch — a budget-friendly ramen and katsu spot near Keimyung University in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, with menu and prices.

Where is Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch, and when is it open?

Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch is at 55 Seodang-ro 9-gil, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, 2nd floor, right above the 7-Eleven convenience store at Keimyung University's east gate. It's open daily from 09:00 to 20:50, last order at 20:25, and parking is street parking in the alley.

They run with no separate break time, so keep that in mind!

This budget-friendly ramen restaurant near Keimyung University's east gate in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, is also a view spot! From the tables you can see Keimyung University's front gate straight through the huge window, and it's even prettier on a sunny day.

That window view at Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch is gorgeous! The openness of the space was amazing.

The hall is also very spacious and comfortable, perfect for group dinners or family gatherings at Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch!

What's at the self-serve bar

Because the store is so spacious, Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch has two self bar stations. One is right in front of the kitchen!

The other is set up by the window on the opposite side.

Udon broth, kimchi, and pickled radish are all prepared there. Just help yourself.

My husband's order — tonkotsu ramen!

True to the restaurant's name, the tonkotsu ramen was really delicious!

They say this is Myeonsikdang's best-selling menu item, with over 2,000 sold a month on average — so I ate it with full confidence!

Bean sprouts, egg, chashu, narutomaki, seaweed, green onion, and rich pork broth — the combination was excellent!

Myeonsikdang's signature tonkotsu ramen! The broth in particular was outstanding!

So loaded with toppings that I got full — the tonkotsu ramen.

The two-person set is amazing value! True to a budget-friendly restaurant, the price is reasonable and the portions are generous, so I think anyone would be satisfied.

The crispiness was next level! The tonkotsu ramen was delicious too, but this loin katsu really stood out!

Made with domestic Korean meat, so the flavor was even better! The crispiness was exceptional and very satisfying. If you prefer meat over noodles, I highly recommend it!

A Japanese-style pork rice bowl! Made with a special sauce unique to the Keimyung branch in Daegu, which made it even tastier!

If you prefer rice, I recommend the buta-don! You could really taste the smoky char on the pork, which made it even better!

The hire katsu was so crispy and tender, I ate it happily.

The crispy coating on the hire katsu at Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch really stood out!

It's amazing with wasabi and pink salt! Also great dipped in tonkatsu sauce!

Shine Muscat ade

And the ade included in the two-person set! We went with the Shine Muscat grape ade.

I was so surprised by how big the ade portion was. You could really taste the Shine Muscat flavor too, very satisfying. If you're coming with two people, the set menu is a must!

Is the two-person set worth it?

Ordering the two-person set meant we got to enjoy mains, sides, and an ade together, which was great. The reasonable pricing made me like Myeonsikdang Keimyung University Branch even more!
