Daegu risotto restaurant: pork jowl toowoomba, spice level 2, Pastoboy
In short
Pastoboy Seongseo Gyedae-dongmun is a pasta and risotto restaurant on Orange Alley, across from Keimyung University's Seongseo campus in Dalseo, Daegu. Eating alone, I ordered the pork jowl toowoomba risotto at spice level 2 with a ricotta cheese salad and a zero-sugar cola, and the risotto was generous with cream yet spicy enough that it never felt heavy. Pastoboy opens 11:00 to 22:00 with no break time, which makes it an easy Keimyung pasta stop between classes or at an awkward hour in the afternoon.

Across from Keimyung's Seongseo campus: fine for solo diners or a date
Pastoboy, a Keimyung pasta restaurant, sits right across from Keimyung University's Seongseo campus. It's also a popular Keimyung date spot people stop by before catching a show or musical at the Keimyung Art Center~ The large dining room has group tables and two-tops, so it's great for family meals or gatherings too~ And plenty of college students dine solo here just like me, so I'd definitely recommend it as a Gyedae-dongmun restaurant.

You can freely help yourself to pickles or jalapeños at the self-bar.

A cozy interior with a touch of warm vibes makes this the perfect Seongseo pasta restaurant for a date. With pasta, risotto, pilaf, salads, and more, it's a Keimyung date spot worth recommending.

Ricotta cheese salad: sweet pineapple, nutty ricotta
The ricotta cheese salad is a bowl piled with fresh chicory, romaine, cherry tomatoes, pineapple, and corn kernels, topped with big chunks of ricotta cheese. Besides the ricotta salad I ordered, the chicken salad with crispy fried chicken is also amazing.

A fresh, crisp salad where sweet pineapple and soft ricotta cheese blend harmoniously with fresh vegetables. The colorful ingredients also made for really pretty photos — a great pick as a Gyedae-dongmun restaurant.

The ricotta cheese alone is delicious, with a rich milky flavor, subtle sweetness, and softness. Eaten together with the sweet pineapple, the sweet-and-nutty combo fills your mouth — so good.

None of the fresh vegetables had any wilted bits — totally my type :) Plenty of people were eating in like me, and just as many were ordering delivery or takeout — recommending this Seongseo pasta restaurant, Pastoboy.
How spicy is spice level 2 on the pork jowl toowoomba risotto?
The pork jowl toowoomba risotto is a risotto with nutty cream, a spicy toowoomba sauce, cheese, and big chunks of pork jowl. The spice level is adjustable — I ordered level 2, a bit spicier than Shin Ramyun. If you're spice-shy, order level 1 for a sweeter flavor, and if you love spice, go for level 3 for a proper kick. Since it's a cream-based toowoomba risotto, even level 3 is probably milder than yeopddeok :)

Tender, juicy grilled pork jowl blankets the top of the risotto~
The texture is softer than plain rice but has more bite than porridge — totally my type. Even though the cream sauce is quite generous, the added spiciness kept it from feeling greasy, which made this Seongseo pasta restaurant taste even better.

Topping the spicy risotto with cool, sweet pickles was so good. Besides the pork jowl I ordered, you can also add toppings like grilled chicken, beef brisket, or flap steak — a reasonably priced Western food restaurant, Pastoboy, worth recommending.

Much nuttier and spicier than franchise toowoomba pasta or risotto, which made it popular with younger crowds too — a restaurant near Keimyung Art Center. The menu is fairly varied, so it's also nice to visit as a family and order a bit of everything.

The tender, juicy grilled pork jowl was also super delicious. No off pork smell at all, just a deep, nutty meaty flavor that paired perfectly with the risotto.

Drinks at Pastoboy: refillable soda or a fruit ade?
With toppings that younger diners love and a variety of menu options, this was a satisfying restaurant to recommend near Keimyung University Station. I went with sweet zero-sugar cola, but Pastoboy's own sweet-and-tart fruit ade is popular too :) If you like soda, go for the refillable soft drinks, and if you want something special, the ade is a strong pick.

Why Pastoboy works for a gap between classes
Pastoboy is a great-value restaurant where you can enjoy an upscale, spicy-and-nutty risotto for around ₩10,000-something. With no break time, it's easy to drop by comfortably during a gap between classes or in that awkward mid-afternoon stretch — a solid Keimyung pasta restaurant~
It's located about 10 minutes on foot from Keimyung University Station, a restaurant near Keimyung University Station.
