Bueokgan Haeundae Branch sits in a quiet alley near Dalmaji-gil. It's close to Haeundae Beach and the Dalmaji-gil driving course, so it's perfect for a date-course visit.

If you're driving, you can use the parking space inside the building, which was a relief since parking around Dalmaji-gil is always a headache.

Inside Bueokgan: antique wood tones and deep green sofa seats

The moment I stepped inside, it felt like walking into a quiet, classic, and luxurious European restaurant. The antique wood-tone furniture, tasteful lighting, and warm-toned interior all came together so well that you could take a great photo anywhere. The tables were spaced generously too, making it a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely brunch and conversation with someone special.

In the back there's a large, luxurious deep green round sofa section! The plush, cozy seats made it feel private yet comfortable for enjoying brunch. With natural light pouring in through the windows and soft table lighting added on top, it was fun just to look around the store.

As the dishes came out one by one, the vibrant colors, neat plating, and mouthwatering aroma delighted our eyes and noses before we even took a bite.

Cracking open the crispy pastry shell and dipping it deep into the warm, smooth soup was so fun. The nutty, buttery flavor of the pastry combined with the rich, creamy soup melted softly in the mouth — the pairing was fantastic. It was the perfect brunch starter to whet the appetite 💛

Seafood tomato clay-pot pasta: a spicy Bueokgan specialty

Bueokgan's seafood tomato clay-pot pasta is a tomato pasta made with shrimp, cherrystone clams, and green mussels in a tomato sauce simmered for a long time.

Loaded generously with fresh seafood, the broth itself had a deep, refreshing savory flavor. The tangy-sweet tomato sauce with a hint of spiciness soaked into the noodles beautifully, and the texture was outstanding. Among the brunch dishes that can get a little heavy, this was a clean, spicy specialty that cut right through it.

Kungpao chicken pilaf: the most filling dish at Bueokgan

Bueokgan's kungpao chicken pilaf is an Asian-style fried rice where salty, spicy kungpao sauce pairs beautifully with oven-roasted chicken.

The special kungpao sauce's salty, sweet-spicy, exotic flavor coated every single grain of rice, and it was seriously addictive. The chicken, moist inside and golden-crisp outside, was clean-tasting and delicious. It's a well-balanced fusion rice dish that also holds up as a filling meal on its own!
