I visited 'Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang' inside Moraenae Market~ This place is already famous for being great value!! The prices are cheap but the quality is really good. It feels different from supermarket sushi! It's located deep inside Moraenae Market and is a takeout-only shop, so I brought it home to eat haha.

It was my first time visiting Moraenae Market, and there were so many people even on a weekday afternoon..!! The market itself was pretty huge too. Anyway, if you keep walking into the market like this, you'll come across Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang haha.

Even though it's inside a market, the location came up fine on Naver Maps. I found it with no trouble at all! The shop was very clean. I could look at the various sushi displayed in the showcase and order directly. The owner was also very kind~ I was in the store for less than a minute but several other customers came and went in that time! Great prices, great taste, and a kind owner too! That's probably why it's so popular. It only operates as a takeout shop, and the strategy is to save on rent and labor costs from running a sit-down restaurant so they can offer even better value.

There were so many kinds! But they weren't just piled up for sale. Only about 1–2 of each kind were made at a time. They said their principle is to use up the day's ingredients on the same day. I guess that's the secret to keeping it fresh haha.

Besides the mixed sushi sets where you can try a bit of everything at once, there were also tons of single-type sushi options! This looked great for people who don't want a mix and just want to buy one kind. They also sell sashimi!

When you order, they pack it up like this — so classy and neat! They didn't charge extra for packaging, and they packed everything into a cold bag. I could carry it home fresh without worrying, even in hot weather.

The order came with the sushi, an ice pack, soy sauce, pickled ginger, rakkyo, wasabi — nothing was missing haha.

Instant miso soup made by pouring in hot water

There was even a miso soup that's ready just by adding hot water! This was so cool~ You squeeze in a sauce that feels similar to mustard, pour in hot water, and it turns into real miso soup! There was also a disposable dish for the soy sauce included, which made it even more convenient to eat. You could really tell they put a lot of thought into the packaging.

What's in the Special Sushi and Special Mixed Sushi?

I got the Special Sushi and Special Mixed Sushi to go. The Special Sushi had 2 flounder, 2 salmon, 1 lean tuna, 1 fatty tuna, 1 seared eel, 1 soy sauce shrimp, 1 freshwater eel, and 1 garlic shrimp. The Special Mixed Sushi had 3 flounder, 2 salmon, 3 raw shrimp, and 2 lean tuna.

When I picked up the salmon and flounder, the fish stretched out long as I lifted it!! I love that so much... it's truly more than just good-value sushi. This place is already pretty famous in Incheon, so if you're nearby, give it a try haha.
