Hanam Misa ramen restaurant with two mini rice combos: Menji
In short
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is a ramen restaurant in the Misagangbyeon area of Hanam, Gyeonggi, the Misa outpost of a shop known as one of Mangwon-dong's three great ramen places. After a 3-night, 4-day trip to Macau full of greasy food, the writer ordered two mini rice combos at Menji — tori paitan and ddangcho (spicy) tori paitan — plus a chicken karaage don, and the sharp, spicy chicken broth of the ddangcho tori paitan cleared out all that heaviness. Menji Hanam Misa Branch is worth a return trip whenever a rich tori paitan craving hits.

After 3 nights, 4 days in Macau eating nothing but greasy, heavy local food non-stop, the moment I landed back in Korea I was insanely craving something spicy and sharp!
I just couldn't take it anymore, so I asked around for spicy, delicious soup recommendations nearby, and heard that 'Menji Hanam Misa Branch,' famous as one of the three top Mangwon-dong ramen restaurants, had opened up in the Misa area — so I went straight there ✌️ Here's my honest, self-paid review of how I got my appetite back after it nearly left home during the trip!

Where is Menji Hanam Misa Branch, and why first-timers miss the entrance
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is located at 36 Misagangbyeon-bukro30beon-angil, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor — directly across from East Bagel, which is super famous in Misa, and right next to Custom Coffee, so even first-timers can find it easily!
⚠️ Entrance heads-up: there's one thing that might throw you off a little when you arrive. The restaurant shares its entrance with the bakery café right next door! So first-timers might get a bit confused thinking, "Wait, is this actually the ramen place?" haha. Once you open the door and walk in, you're immediately in the ramen restaurant's space, so don't worry — just walk on in!
Waiting tip: if you come during peak hours and there's a wait, you can comfortably wait inside the shared bakery café space, which is a huge plus so you don't have to suffer outside on hot or cold days 👍

What is the interior like? Japanese-style decor and window seats
🏮 The moment I stepped into Menji Hanam Misa Branch, I felt that cozy, charming, distinctly Japanese atmosphere. Cute Japanese anime posters were stuck up all over the walls, which made for fun little browsing while waiting for food!
The window seat view in particular felt like looking at a pretty framed picture — so aesthetic and atmospheric that the whole meal felt satisfying just from the vibe alone at this Hanam Misa ramen restaurant.

What we ordered at Menji: two mini rice combos and a chicken karaage don
🍜 Since we wanted to enjoy a variety of dishes and eat plenty, we ordered two mini rice combos at Menji Hanam Misa Branch plus an extra chicken karaage don, which my kid loves! For the ramen included in the combos, we picked the signature 'tori paitan' and the sharp, spicy 'ddangcho tori paitan.'

Tori paitan vs. ddangcho tori paitan: how spicy is the difference?

The moment the ramen arrived, the color alone was insane... thick, tender sous-vide pork shoulder chashu was laid around the edge of the bowl like flower petals — total visual win!
Basic tori paitan: a broth deeply simmered from chicken, so it's rich yet clean and light! There's zero pork-broth funk, so even people sensitive to that kind of gaminess can enjoy it happily. The sous-vide pork shoulder chashu had zero dryness — it melted right on the tip of my tongue, and I was so proud that my kid ate it up so well 😋

Ddangcho tori paitan: today's true MVP that completely swept away the greasiness left over from Macau! It's not some half-hearted shichimi spice — this is real Korean-style, fiery, clean ddangcho (spicy green chili) heat! The savoriness of the chicken broth and the sharp kick of the ddangcho went together perfectly — the moment I took one sip of the broth, an involuntary "kya~" came out. My appetite, which had basically run away, came right back.

How was the chicken karaage don at Menji?
🍗 Peppery, crispy-yet-juicy 'chicken karaage don'

The chicken karaage don that came alongside the ramen was excellent quality too! Crispy on the outside, juicy and moist on the inside — piled high with karaage, and when I sprinkled on a bit of pepper while eating, it cut through any greasiness completely and the umami exploded!

Mixing the rice from the mini rice combo into the ddangcho tori paitan broth, then pairing it with the karaage don — it was the perfect combination 🍚👍
Final verdict on Menji Hanam Misa Branch
💬 A genuine Hanam Misa ramen restaurant that cleanly and fiercely fixed my greasy post-travel stomach! From the deep chicken broth with zero funk, to the sous-vide pork shoulder chashu that melts in your mouth, plus the atmospheric interior and the bakery café waiting space — everything about this place worked for me. Whenever I'm craving a rich, delicious tori paitan ramen, I'm definitely coming back ✌️
