A hearty Korean ssambap meal in Hanam Misa
Dolsoe Ssambap

I wanted a hearty Korean meal in Hanam Misa, so I went to a ssambap restaurant!

It is a place where you can enjoy meat and a variety of wrap vegetables all at once, so if you already love ssambap and are looking for a Hanam Misa restaurant to take your parents to, I think you will be very satisfied!

Dolsoe Ssambap menu and ssamjang choices
The menu was centered on ssambap, rice served with leafy wraps and fillings~ The main options included thin-sliced pork belly ssambap, beef brisket ssambap, Dolsoe spicy pork ssambap, beef bulgogi ssambap, stir-fried octopus ssambap, and pork rib ssambap!

With the thin-sliced pork belly and beef brisket ssambap, you can grill the meat too, which makes it feel even more like a proper Korean meal! There are also two ssamjang (savory soybean dipping paste) choices: seafood ssamjang or mackerel ssamjang! They both sounded delicious, so we debated for a while before choosing the seafood ssamjang!!

They also have alcoholic drinks, so it seems like a nice place for a family gathering! I visited on a weekend, and almost every table was having a family meal!

A full table of wrap vegetables and side dishes
Not long after we ordered, the whole table was set. The first thing that caught my eye was, of course, the wide variety of wrap vegetables~ A basket arrived generously filled with lettuce, perilla leaves, and several other kinds of greens!

Several basic side dishes came out too~ There was kimchi, seasoned vegetables, namul (seasoned vegetable side dishes), salted innards from cutlassfish, salad, and more—an even spread of sides that went well with rice! It was the kind of Korean meal where, once you start picking at each side dish, a whole bowl of rice disappears before you know it.

The seafood ssamjang arrived warm in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot), and it felt smoother and richer than regular ssamjang~ I put meat on rice, added a little seafood ssamjang, then wrapped it in the greens, and the salty, savory flavors worked so well together haha.

Steamed egg came with the meal too, and its fluffy, moist texture made it nice to have between bites of meat and wraps~ The doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) was also deeply flavorful and packed with vegetables and tofu, which made it even more enjoyable.

A bite wrapped with beef bulgogi and seafood ssamjang
The main beef bulgogi came stir-fried with vegetables including onions, carrots, and scallions~ The meat was nicely infused with seasoning, with plenty of sesame seeds and scallions piled on top haha.

The meat alone had that gently sweet and salty seasoned flavor, but at a ssambap restaurant, wrapping it up is definitely the proper way to eat it!

I placed rice on lettuce or perilla leaves and piled on plenty of beef bulgogi. Adding a little seafood ssamjang and some side dishes before making one big wrap brought the meat, vegetables, and ssamjang flavors together all at once~~

Eating it with all those different wrap vegetables made it much fresher than eating the meat on its own~ Adding a little warm steamed egg to a wrap went wonderfully too!!
The stew bubbled away in its earthenware pot with tofu and vegetables inside, and its savory broth was great with rice~ Overall, it did not feel like a meal where a lone plate of meat was simply set down; with wrap vegetables, side dishes, stew, and steamed egg all included, it had that generous Korean-meal abundance!

A Misa ssambap restaurant to visit with parents
There were plenty of different wrap vegetables, so I could choose as much as I wanted, and combining the many side dishes and ssamjang made for lots of different flavors~ Hanam Misa-style Korean ssambap, with gently sweet beef bulgogi and seafood ssamjang, went so well with rice, and the whole spread was generous. I recommend visiting when you want a hearty meal.

You can use the building's underground parking, so it is easy to visit by car too. A Hanam Misa Korean ssambap meal I especially want to recommend—five stars, totally recommended!!
