Kid-friendly Korean set meal near Unjeong Lake Park: Eomma-ui Ttuksim
In short
Eomma-ui Ttuksim is a home-style Korean set-meal restaurant on Songhak 1-gil in Paju, Gyeonggi, near Unjeong Lake Park. The writer ordered the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set, which came with smoky-grilled spicy jjukkumi (baby octopus), soy-based bulgogi, banchan such as acorn jelly and savory pancake, and doenjang jjigae. The jjukkumi heat stayed gentle enough that the writer's child ate it happily, and parking right in front of Eomma-ui Ttuksim was easy.

Today I had plans with my kid in Paju, so for a hearty meal we stopped by Eomma-ui Ttuksim, a Korean restaurant near Unjeong that serves up all the care and grit (뚝심, ttuksim) of a mother's home cooking.

True to its name, it really did feel like a meal a mom laid out for you, and I ate so well — here's my review :)
Where is Eomma-ui Ttuksim, and what about parking and hours?
Eomma-ui Ttuksim is at 158-14 Songhak 1-gil, Kim Young Building 101, 102, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It's open 11:00–21:00 with last order at 21:00. They offer reservations, WiFi, takeout, separate men's/women's restrooms, easy payment, parking, and valet.

No frills, just "Eomma-ui Ttuksim" — those few words really did capture the grit behind the place, and it felt like a genuine local favorite. Parking right in front of the store also made things easy.

I believe in the warm strength a good bowl of rice can give you.
Right? We really are a people devoted to rice. I felt like they poured that spirit right into the food haha.
Also, takeout is available for 2 or more people!!
What is the dining room at Eomma-ui Ttuksim like?

Once I stepped in, there were so many autographs on the wall! Definitely a well-known spot!

Inside, wood-toned tables paired with white curtain lighting gave the space a cozy but clean feel, and the tables were spaced generously apart, making it comfortable and private. The owner was also genuinely kind, which made it feel just like being home haha.
What's on the menu at Eomma-ui Ttuksim?

The menu is pretty simple — Ttuksim Set, Bossam Set, Jjukkumi Set, Pork Bulgogi Set, and Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set, plus a new Gochujang Pork Bulgogi Set, with add-on items also available. Every meal set comes with a stew, and you can choose between cheonggukjang or doenjang!

How many banchan come with a set meal?
I came for a relaxed meal in a relaxed space, but the sheer number and variety of banchan (side dishes) felt like a full traditional Korean set meal.
Stir-fried eggplant, yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), mung bean sprouts with acorn jelly, pajeon (savory pancake), stir-fried fish cake, seasoned zucchini, and fresh leafy greens for wrapping — it really felt like homemade side dishes straight from someone's kitchen!!

And true to its name, the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set came with soy-based bulgogi and smoky spicy octopus!!!

Is the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set mild enough for a child?
Time to dig into this hearty spread. First up, the jjukkumi (webfoot octopus)! The sauce was such a deep red I expected it to be really spicy, but it turned out to be a mild, delicious kind of spicy rather than harsh.

The octopus wasn't chewy in a tough way — it was tender, and the sauce soaked in nicely instead of just sitting on the surface. Really good.

It was also great wrapped in the fresh greens, and I realized jjukkumi really has to be eaten with mu-saengchae (seasoned radish salad) and mung bean sprouts to be enjoyed properly haha.

Mixing rice into the sauce was also pure bliss!

Soy-based bulgogi and doenjang jjigae
Next up, the bulgogi. The soy-based, smoky-flavored bulgogi had a gentle sweetness and a gentle saltiness that hit that sweet-and-savory balance just right.

It was great wrapped in greens and eaten with rice, and my kid especially loved it hahaha. If you're visiting with a child, I definitely recommend this place!
The bubbling doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) was also deeply savory, packed with hearty ingredients that made the meal feel really filling.
