Gangneung café for coffee soft serve: Coffee Dripper

I heard there was a great coffee spot near Gangmun Beach in Gangneung serving hand-drip coffee made with beans roasted in-house, so I went to check it out—Coffee Dripper (커피드립퍼)! Apparently, the owner had run a café for more than 10 years before opening this new space, haha. I was really looking forward to the coffee.

Coffee Dripper, within walking distance of Gangmun Beach

Coffee Dripper in Gangneung is only about a 10-minute walk from Gangmun Beach, so the location was fantastic too! Isn't the exterior so pretty? It occupies its own building.

Warm wood interiors and counter seats

The warm wood-toned interior was totally my style. It was such a pretty space where comfort and modernity coexist. The café was bigger than I expected! Most of the windows are floor-to-ceiling too, so plenty of sunlight comes in. Vitamin D synthesis, check...

The area in front of the café was beautifully arranged too, with a lovely green view. There are counter seats as well! When I visited, there seemed to be especially lots of daughters traveling with their moms. Some were chatting away at the counter seats, and it looked so nice, haha.

There was also a little goods corner. Everything was simple enough to wear day to day, and isn't it cute?! I thought the items would make nice keepsakes from a Gangneung trip or gifts too.

Ice cream and sundubu pudding on the menu

They also sold simple baked treats, and desserts such as sundubu (soft tofu) pudding and ice cream were shown in photos, which made choosing easy. The café was really clean! They were constantly cleaning. It definitely felt like a well-loved Gangneung café.

They also have patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans). From the reviews, it sounds like the patbingsu is delicious here too, haha.

Milk and coffee ice cream with an iced Americano

I ordered ice cream and an Americano! Isn't it gorgeous right from the start? The glass was so cute.

The milk ice cream was a dessert with an appealing fresh, rich, naturally nutty milk flavor! That sweet first bite is just perfect for a little sugar boost on a hot summer day...!!

I was surprised that the coffee ice cream was even more delicious than I expected! Rather than an artificial coffee scent, it had espresso's characteristic pleasant bitterness, balanced so well with the sweetness of the ice cream. A little unsweetened dark chocolate on top added a lovely crunchy bite. Coffee Dripper's clean milk flavor and appealing coffee flavor were both so good that I think I'd have a hard time deciding which ice cream to get if I came alone next time.

And above all, it was so pretty...

I also ordered an iced Americano! At Coffee Dripper in Gangneung, they put in two coffee ice cubes like this. I loved that thoughtful touch to keep the coffee from getting watered down too quickly, haha.

It had a balanced, not-over-the-top flavor that was really nice and nutty to drink. If you want clean, delicious coffee near Gangmun Beach in Gangneung, I highly recommend Coffee Dripper!
