Gangneung café after car camping for longe brunch: Baegya Coffee
In short
Baegya Coffee is a large bakery café opposite Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon. After car camping with my child, we had a longe sausage bread, salt bread, an iced Americano, and a rich double chocolate latte. Verdict: a great next-morning stop after car camping at Sacheonjin Beach.

While traveling to Gangneung with my child over the weekend, we went car camping at Sacheonjin Beach and looked for a large bakery café nearby to visit in the morning. So we headed straight to Baegya Coffee (백야커피), a Gangneung ocean-view café right across the road.

After refreshing car camping at Sacheonjin Beach by Gyeongpo Pavilion, there was Baegya Coffee—a big Gangneung bakery café with an ocean view—standing out right across the road.

There’s parking in the building, so parking is easy too~
Once inside, the airy, open interior and the big windows let you take in the blue waves of Sacheonjin Beach by Gyeongpo Pavilion right in front of you. What a Gangneung ocean-view café!
A wide selection of bakery items and drinks
As you’d expect from a big Gangneung bakery café, there are so many choices~ They even have the smart automatic-door display cases I saw at the bakery café in Novotel Yongsan. So fancy, haha.

There are so many baked breads—really, whatever you’re craving and whatever your taste~ Looks like they can win over everyone from kids to adults! Haha.

There are cakes on the other side too,

My beloved Kiri cheese~ pretzel, sob. Usually these cost over ₩4,000 or ₩5,000, and I regret not bringing one home.. Baegya Coffee’s bakery items are generally quite reasonably priced compared with other cafés.

Baegya Coffee café menu

Looking at the menu at Gangneung ocean-view café Baegya Coffee, the corn ice cream marked with a star caught my eye because it’s popular. The coffee and latte prices were good for such a large café too~ There were drinks my child could have, so choosing was easy.

Large cafés can be difficult to clean and manage, but Baegya Coffee was spotless throughout. Then I noticed staff stationed on every floor, tidying up regularly, and it all made sense~

The floors and rooftop
There are tables on the first floor too, but~ I wanted to look at the ocean view from somewhere higher, so up we went~ An elevator to save my knees! The owner really has a knack for these things~
They even made a shelf so you can set your drink tray down in there~?! The owner really has a knack for these things~

Gangneung ocean-view café Baegya Coffee is a large café spanning floors 1 through 4, with a rooftop where you can enjoy the ocean view.

This is the second floor, and the third floor is almost the same~

The second and third floors have terrace spaces too, with a different charm from the rooftop~ These are no-kids zones too! High chairs are available! So good~ The restrooms were very clean, which I appreciated. There are self-packing stations for leftover bread on every floor too~
This is the fourth-floor rooftop. When I went up, it felt like my chest just opened right up~ But it’s a no-kids zone!! I think they made it a no-kids zone because it could be dangerous~
The longe and salt bread we ordered
- Iced Americano ₩5,500
- Double Chocolate Latte ₩6,500
- Salt Bread ₩3,800
- Longe ₩6,500

A beautiful weekend morning~ The waves sounded lovely, and the breeze was cool without being cold, so I wanted to eat on the outdoor terrace.. Oh right~ I had a kid with me, haha.

First up, the sausage bread~ This longe is loooong, nearly as long as the tray is wide. The kind of bread every kid is bound to love—nothing controversial about it.

I think we’ll go car camping at Sacheonjin Beach now and then, and whenever we come to Gangneung from now on, it’s Baegya Coffee for sure~

The pastry was soft and sliced smoothly in one go~ The sausage was springy and not tough either. Good job.
Everything Mom picks is delicious~

That endless length is surprisingly filling too~ haha.

Time for the salt bread.

When I split it open, the hollow wasn’t huge, but it looked delicious at a glance.

I liked that it wasn’t overly buttery~ Oh my~ so chewy~
Even though I told him to relax and eat while looking at the ocean, my son wouldn’t even make eye contact with Mom—he ate with his eyes closed.

Americano and double chocolate latte
Next came the iced Americano and double chocolate latte. The standard beans are Nightro: nutty with almost no acidity! Exactly my taste~ I’m not keen on coffee that’s too intense first thing in the morning~
The double chocolate latte lives up to its name~ Apparently it’s super rich, haha. My child had stopped having chocolate for a while and recently started again after feeling better, and said it was the best chocolate latte he’d ever had~
My son carefully picked up every little salt crumb that had fallen from the salt bread and put it back on to eat, one by one, hahahahaha. It might look a little pitiful, but he happily went yum yum~ and cleared it!

It’s right opposite Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung, so you can relax while enjoying the ocean view—highly recommended! If you’re looking for a large bakery café worth visiting on a Gangneung trip, I recommend Baegya Coffee by Gyeongpo Pavilion.
