Sirloin gyukatsu, 19,000 won: grilling each piece on the mini tabletop grill

The sirloin gyukatsu at Gyuen-dang Avenue France Gwanggyo Branch is ₩19,000, a dish you place on a mini charcoal grill and cook to your own taste. It's the most classic style of gyukatsu, made with sirloin known for its deep meaty flavor and finished with teriyaki sauce! 🥩🔥

While we were ordering and chatting for a bit, today's main dishes arrived beautifully arranged! Seeing the tray full of a clean, gorgeous spread instantly boosted my excitement, haha.

You grill it yourself on the mini charcoal grill to your liking — crispy on the outside, moist inside, with the juices bursting out!! The first bite dipped in salt, the second in the sweet-and-savory special sauce — it just melts in your mouth!!!

Isigny butter melting on the grill with gyukatsu

They give you a cup of Isigny butter, and if you melt it right onto the grill plate before cooking, that buttery richness adds a whole other level of deliciousness!!!! Add a dab of wasabi and it just keeps disappearing into your mouth without end, haha.

Ask the staff to swap the grill plate when it gets messy

As you keep grilling, the breading from the gyukatsu sticks to the plate and starts to burn, making it grubby — but when I asked for a new one, a friendly staff member came right over and swapped it out quickly, haha. Fresh start!!

Hamburg omurice, 17,000 won: a thick hamburg steak under a blanket of egg

The hamburg omurice is ₩17,000. It arrived as a juicy, thick hamburg steak topped with a fluffy, soft Japanese-style egg blanket omurice!!! A perfect harmony of soft egg and juicy hamburg.

Slicing it right down the middle like cutting it open reveals the soft, tender egg underneath — pour plenty of sauce over it and take a big bite!!!

It's just... indescribably good, hehe, haha.

Underneath the egg blanket hides a thick hamburg steak, and this is amazing too, haha. Can you see the juices?? One bite and it's just meaty through and through, haha. The softness of the egg, the savory meatiness of the hamburg, and the rich sauce come together perfectly with the rice — every bite made me let out a little gasp, haha. A flavor that everyone from kids to adults, no exceptions, is guaranteed to love!!
