Busan milmyeon with uncut noodles and peppery broth: Seomyeon Milmyeon
In short
Seomyeon Milmyeon is a milmyeon (cold wheat noodle) restaurant in Seomyeon, Busan, a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 8. I ordered mul-milmyeon, bibim-milmyeon and dumplings, ate the noodles whole instead of cutting them with scissors, and drank the peppery hot broth that arrives in its own kettle. The mul-milmyeon is cool with a sharp, bracing seasoning and the bibim-milmyeon is nutty with a gentler heat, so Seomyeon Milmyeon is an easy recommendation when you want milmyeon in Seomyeon.

This time I visited Seomyeon Milmyeon, a real deal restaurant near Seomyeon Station that bets everything on one dish — milmyeon !!
How to get to Seomyeon Milmyeon, and is there parking?

Seomyeon Milmyeon has its own ordering system — you order at the kiosk, and if the count or payment doesn't match, you just let the staff know haha

We ordered mul-milmyeon + bibim-milmyeon + dumplings~~~

Inside Seomyeon Milmyeon and the self-serve bar
Opening the door, wood-tone tables stretched out in a row, and the spacing between tables felt generous~~~

You order first at the kiosk near the entrance and get called by number, so turnover felt pretty quick~~~

On one wall of Seomyeon Milmyeon, a milmyeon spot in Busan, there were signatures from celebrities who'd visited packed densely together, so it was fun just to look around !!!

And water is self-serve!!!
There's a self-serve bar on one side, set up so you just grab as many spoons and baby forks as you need~~~

The peppery hot broth served in its own kettle
Once we sat down, pickled radish and danmuji (yellow pickled radish) were set first, and the hot broth came out in its own kettle !!!

The hot broth looked clear but had a surprisingly strong peppery smell rising off it — one sip and my stomach felt instantly warmed up~~~

On the table there was also a sign explaining how to eat milmyeon properly, saying not to drink too much water before eating and not to cut the noodles with scissors~~~

Mul-milmyeon: soft noodles you eat without scissors
Finally the mul-milmyeon, bibim-milmyeon and dumplings arrived !!! It came out in under 5 minutes after ordering, which was great~~~

Let's start with the mul-milmyeon haha
Half a boiled egg, shredded boiled beef, and cucumber were piled generously over broth with floating ice slush !!! And the portion was so big it made me wonder if we'd accidentally added extra noodles lol
I tried eating the noodles without cutting them with scissors, and they really did come apart softly~~~

The broth at Seomyeon Milmyeon, a milmyeon spot in Busan, is refreshingly cool, but the seasoning sauce on top is subtly sharp, so every bite came with a burst of spicy kick !!!

Bibim-milmyeon: nutty first, spicy after
Next up, let's try the bibim-milmyeon haha

The bibim-milmyeon was actually milder than the mul-milmyeon, with a nutty flavor coming through first~~~

As I kept chewing, a mild spiciness slowly crept up, and it kept pulling me back for more !!!
Dumplings at Seomyeon Milmyeon, 7,500 won
Lastly, I tried the dumplings~~~ The chewy dumpling skin was packed full of filling, and with the warmth added to the chewy wrapper, it was a total winner haha

It was delicious again today, so I finished every last bite !!!
