Why we chose Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch in Seongbok-dong

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is a noodle restaurant at 80 Seongbok 1-ro, Suji-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi, on the first floor, unit 104 of Seohee Star Hills. We had to move as a group of four for weekday lunch — three of us and Choco the baby, to be exact — so instead of going far, I looked for a good spot near home and picked this place.

Today my brother, who came over because he was bored, my mom, Choco, and I visited Chilseong Jemyeonso. We didn't go far — just found a nearby spot, haha. The building looked fairly new, so the parking lot was spacious and I parked super easily! It's a noodle place but has a wide enough menu that it seemed like it could satisfy everyone, so we went.

Inside the restaurant and what it offers families with a baby

On a weekday lunch, the inside of Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch was nearly full except for two or three tables. It's clean with a white-wood tone and the tables are spaced generously, making it easy to wheel a stroller around.

It was weekday lunch and almost every table was taken except two or three! Seeing such a wide range of ages coming through, this must be a well-known spot in the area 🫢

The interior is clean, done in white-wood tones, with generous spacing between tables that made it easy to move around. A stroller-friendly place!

A photo I took of the table next to us once it had cleared — clean and ready. Since it's mostly noodle dishes, turnover was really fast and the crowd kept changing, but the staff handled it very smoothly.

Every table has its own kiosk, so ordering and paying is easy. And of course, water is self-serve!!

Along with origin labeling, there's also a bowl for portioning out baby food, so it seems like a good place to come with a baby!

There were three of us, so we ordered four dishes: charcoal beef gukbap (rice and soup), spicy hangover fresh noodle soup, seafood yaki udon, and fried rib mandu, haha.

There's also a baby chair that can sit right on top of a regular chair, so it's easy to use!

Charcoal beef gukbap: a smoky note right in the broth

The first dish to arrive at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch was my brother's order, the charcoal beef gukbap. It looks like galbitang (short rib soup) at first glance, but the broth carries a distinct charcoal aroma, and it came with quite a lot of glass noodles.

Cauldron spicy hangover fresh noodle soup: how spicy is it really?

My mom's order, the cauldron-brewed spicy hangover fresh noodle soup, came with crown daisy greens and fried tofu, which she said tasted great together. For my mom, who likes spicy food, it was a moderately hot level.

Chilseong seafood yaki udon: the best dish of the day

My order, the Chilseong seafood yaki udon, was personally my number one dish out of everything we had at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch that day. Sweet and only very lightly spicy, with generous toppings.

And here's my order, the Chilseong seafood yaki udon. Sweet with just a touch of spice, loaded with toppings — a really addictive flavor. Personally, my number one dish of the day.

Not just noodles but plenty of vegetables and seafood too, so I was really satisfied!!! The sweet-spicy flavor kept the chopsticks moving...

Fried rib mandu and the full table at the end

The last dish to come out, the fried rib mandu, was just the right amount for three of us to have two each. Especially touching was how carefully the staff set the hot dishes down, aware we had a baby with us.

And finally, the fried rib mandu. Regular rib mandu is already good, but frying it makes it even better lol. The portion was just right too, so each of us got two. It was touching to see them carefully set down the hot food knowing we had a baby with us 🥹

Would we go back to Chilseong Jemyeonso for a family meal?

A really generous spread. The menu was varied, the place was clean, and parking was completely free — a great spot for a casual lunch, recommended! Overall, Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Branch was a clean, comfortable place to grab a meal. For our noodle-loving family, the menu selection was solid, and it was an easy, no-pressure place to visit, which was satisfying.

These days, moving around with a baby means the taste matters, but so does how comfortable the restaurant is, and this place worked well for a family meal on that front too. Rather than a fancy night out, it's the kind of place I'd come back to on a day I just want a warm bowl of noodles without much fuss. If you're eating with parents or looking for a family spot with a little one, it's worth a visit. A place to remember in Suji when you want a clean, satisfying noodle meal 😊 Next time I'll have to try the other menu items I missed this round!
