Every plate 2,100 won: what the Mikado Sushi dining room is like

The restaurant is a 4-minute walk from Pyeongtaek Station, and there are lots of bus stops nearby, so it was easy to get to and find. The first thing that caught my eye at the entrance was the flat rate of ₩2,100 for every plate — isn't that ridiculously cheap already? 😀 You might think low prices mean skimpy quality or a small selection, but that's absolutely not the case, haha. Let's go take a look~
The restaurant had a good variety of seating, from 4-person tables to 2-person tables. There were solo diners, families, and couples all eating there.
Flatfish and sea bream sourcing labels and receipts on display
The first thing I noticed walking in was the name-disclosure system for flatfish and sea bream‼️ They even transparently displayed the purchase receipts, so I could really eat with confidence, haha. No wonder the flatfish and sea bream I had that day had zero smell and were chewy and fresh 😉

It's not just the sushi that's great value — they sell alcohol at prices that make it easy to enjoy without worry too. Next time I come, I'm definitely having a beer ^^

The service was so lavish I could hardly tell if this was a restaurant or a hotel :) I was genuinely touched by the owner's sincere care and consideration for guests 😉

I also liked that every type of sushi was listed at each table, so you could easily place additional orders via QR code on your phone.

At the table there were all kinds of sauces to customize your own bites — wasabi, soy sauce, pickled ginger (rakkyo), salmon sauce, meat sauce, eel sauce, tuna sauce and more — and there was ice underneath so you could enjoy the sauces cold 👍
Soon after we sat down, they brought out warm soup (janggug), and whenever it emptied, the staff would ask first if we needed more, which I really appreciated! Now I was ready to eat sushi‼️
First round off the belt: egg with sweet shrimp and salmon with onion
Personally, I prefer conveyor-belt sushi over plated sushi. There's something fun about picking your own 😉
The first sushi was the egg-sweet shrimp sushi, overwhelming even just visually. The rice portion was just right, and the combination of egg and shrimp was so perfect it melted in my mouth ^^

Then we just kept eating without stopping, hahaha. Every single piece was delicious, but the salmon-onion sushi in particular was soft, savory-sweet, and so good 👍

Only pickled ginger (rakkyo) was set on the table, so I wondered if there was no ginger — but I found it on the conveyor belt.

QR code extra orders: grilled salmon on fried tofu and flatfish fin
To eat a bit more seriously, we focused on ordering the specific menu items we wanted via QR code!

They made it right in front of us in no time, so we got it fast~ Next, I want to recommend the grilled salmon fried tofu and flatfish fin sushi. These two really need no explanation, haha. Make sure to order and try them!

(Second round) Laying it all out like this made us feel kind of rich, hahaha. Since every plate is ₩2,100, we could eat comfortably without worry 😉

Can you see how gorgeous and substantial this spread looks✨

After that, we kept ordering more and more.

The last plate at Mikado Sushi: chocolate cake
For the final plate, I went for dessert. I honestly didn't expect much, but it turned out to be a textbook moist, soft, sweet chocolate cake! As good as cake sold at a decent café :)
17 plates each: is Mikado Sushi Pyeongtaek Station worth it?

My friend and I each cleanly demolished 17 plates. This is the kind of no-wait sushi spot near Pyeongtaek Station that puts to rest any worry that 'cheap must mean the taste isn't great.' The staff were kind too, and it was great value — we left full and happy 😀
