Pyeongtaek Bijeon-dong kalguksu with upstairs parking: Goryeo Mulchong
In short
Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu is a clam-and-mussel broth kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) restaurant on Pyeongnam-ro in Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. With a 6-year-old and a 9-year-old along, the writer ordered the 3-person set (two picks from kalguksu or goldongmyeon, plus napa cabbage dumplings and pear-leaf medicinal boiled pork) and received two free rice bowls, which the restaurant gives free to children through elementary school; the parking lot on the upper floor of the building has a narrow entrance that takes care to drive into. Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu is worth recommending for a family lunch with young children.

Whenever we go out with the kids on weekends, figuring out lunch is always a headache! Since the kids are still young the menu options are limited, but kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) is one dish the whole family can enjoy. This is my review of Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu in Pyeongtaek, where the clean broth and chewy noodles were the best part (:⭐️
What to check before visiting Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu in Pyeongtaek with kids
Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu is a noodle restaurant on Pyeongnam-ro in Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. Their broth uses domestic Gochang clams and Tongyeong mussels, paired with house-made noodles — a kalguksu they say people of all ages can enjoy.

When heading out to lunch with a kid, I always check whether the menu works for children and whether parking is available. There's a parking lot on the upper floor of the restaurant building, so driving there isn't a hassle. That said, the entrance to the lot is on the narrow side, so it's best to pull in carefully.
Inside Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu: high chairs and the self-serve side dish bar
My first impression walking into Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu was how spacious it felt! The wide, comfortable space with generous gaps between tables made it a great place to eat with a child.

There's a self-serve bar set up, so you can grab extra side dishes yourself with no fuss. They also had a baby chair and a disposable bib, both of which we made good use of during the meal :)
What comes in the 3-person set, and the free kids' rice bowl
The menu at Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu ranges from the signature kalguksu to perilla-oil goldongmyeon, napa cabbage dumplings, and boiled pork. There are also set menus so you can enjoy a variety of dishes at once.

- 📌3-person set — kalguksu or goldongmyeon (pick 2) + napa cabbage dumplings + perilla-leaf medicinal pork
- 2 free kids' rice bowls
The set composition looked great, so we ordered the 3-person set and added two rice bowls for the kids. Rice bowls are free through elementary school age, which made it easy to order without worrying about the bill.

How does the kalguksu taste? Clam broth and house-made noodles
The broth itself is so clean and refreshing. Maybe because the noodles are house-made, they had a really nice chewy texture! Both the adults and the kids ate it up happily. You know it's a good restaurant when the kids clean their plates, right?

Pear-leaf medicinal boiled pork: even the 6- and 9-year-old cleaned the plate
The domestic grade-1 ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly) boiled pork included in the 3-person set had no gamy smell and was so tender that both kids, ages 6 and 9, ate it happily. Dipped in the accompanying sauce, topped with salted shrimp, and eaten together with pickled radish strips, it was pure heaven. Overall the food had a wholesome feel to it.

Glossy, chewy, tender meat combined with the savory pickled radish strips — the boiled pork disappeared in no time....

Napa cabbage dumplings and the free four-seasons fried rice
The dumplings included in the set menu use napa cabbage for the wrapper! The crisp texture was definitely a charm, and they were packed with juices — really tasty.

When you order Goryeo Mulchong Kalguksu, a four-seasons fried rice is provided free of charge.

It's not spicy, so the kids ate it well too. The menu doesn't miss a beat from start to finish — kalguksu with a refreshing clam broth, dumplings, and boiled pork, all to share with the family. If you're visiting with two or more people, I'd definitely recommend going for the set menu to enjoy the variety⭐
