Yangju café with Dubai croissants and a kids-care zone: Moonbird

In short

Moonbird is a large bakery café with its own garden in Goeup-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi. Visiting with a baby, we sat in Hall A, the kids-care zone, walked the garden, and ordered a Dubai croissant for 9,800 won, a decaf iced americano for 7,500 won, and an ice cream latte for 8,800 won. The Dubai croissant, packed with pistachio spread and kadayif, was the highlight at Moonbird.

Today's café review is Moonbird ☺️ I'd been to this large Yangju café once before — great atmosphere, great desserts — and I had such good memories from that visit that I decided to go back with my baby this time 👶🏻

Where is Moonbird, and what is the parking like?

Moonbird, a Yangju large-café dessert spot, is located in Goeup-dong,

Moonbird's red brick building exterior in Goeup-dong

There's a spacious dedicated parking lot right next to the café, so parking was really convenient!

The red brick building really stands out — the café is gorgeous from the outside, so I couldn't help but take photos. Totally my style 💕

Where can you sit with a baby? Moonbird's Hall A kids-care zone and Hall B no-kids zone

Moonbird has Hall A, Hall B, and a garden — Hall A is the kids-care zone, and Hall B is the no-kids zone. Since I came with my baby, I used Hall A and the garden. If you use the garden, be careful not to damage the flowers and plants!

True to a large Yangju café, the interior was huge with tons of tables. There were even group tables, so it looked perfect for gatherings, and each table had a different concept, which made it fun just to look around.

Everywhere was decorated nicely with frames and cute little props, and in Hall A my favorite was the window seat with a garden view! The place is so big that it was still easy to push a stroller around for babies who aren't walking yet 👍

This is Hall B, the no-kids zone — the floor-to-ceiling window at the very end was gorgeous and gave a real sense of openness. Plenty of tables here too, plus group seating :)

There are party supplies and blankets, and a pretty restroom right from the entrance.

Moonbird's garden: can you walk a stroller around it?

This is Moonbird's garden! It's really spacious, so it looked like a great place for kids to run around. My baby is still too young to run around, but we took a stroller walk in one corner and got some pretty photos too 👶🏻🧡

There are tables set up here too, so you can relax while taking in the garden view 💚

I imagine it'll be even prettier once autumn fully arrives, but even now it was lovely seeing all the greenery — it felt healing just to look at 🌿

Moonbird's dessert award announcement

Moonbird has won the excellence award for two consecutive years in the café-dessert category from the Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation, so I had even higher expectations for the desserts ✨

True to a Yangju dessert spot, they had all kinds of beautifully styled cakes,

And right now they've released a fall-season fig cake, available as a whole cake by reservation! You can also order it on the spot, though pickup takes about an hour.

And bakery items like salt bread, croissants, and kouign-amann — but what really caught my heart was the Dubai croissant..💚 I used to eat a lot of Dubai-style desserts when they were trending but hadn't had one in ages, so seeing it again made me want it so badly. So I picked the Dubai croissant!

What we ordered at Moonbird: Dubai croissant, decaf americano, ice cream latte

For dessert we got the Dubai croissant, and for drinks a decaf americano and an ice cream latte.

Decaf iced americano ₩7,500

The decaf iced americano had just the right acidity and nuttiness, with a clean finish that paired really well with dessert 👍

Ice cream latte ₩8,800

The ice cream latte came topped with a milky, strong vanilla ice cream — sweet yet rich, with a lovely nutty milk flavor 🍦

Dubai croissant ₩9,800

The Dubai croissant was overwhelming just from looks alone.. it's coated in chocolate on top, and stuffed between the layers with kadayif tossed in pistachio spread plus chocolate jam.

Cross-section of the Dubai croissant filled with pistachio and kadayif

You could really tell they didn't skimp on ingredients, which made the Dubai croissant even better..💚 The sweetness was just right, and you could really taste the pistachio and butter — a genuinely delicious dessert!!! Highly recommend it if you like Dubai-style desserts 👍
