Weeknight Vietnamese dinner in Jeongja-dong: fried rice at Kkamon

It's been a while since I had dinner in Jeongja-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam! Haha, I ate so well there. The place I visited is Kkamon, a Vietnamese food specialist and pho spot located in the Dsharp Starpark building in Jeongja-dong. Lately I've been craving pho so badly I almost wanted to fly to Vietnam just to eat it, so this visit came at the perfect time. Let me walk you through it.

Finding Kkamon on the 1st floor of Dsharp Starpark in Jeongja-dong

This is the entrance of Kkamon, a well-known pho spot in Bundang. The sign literally says "we sell pho" in the most straightforward way, and it caught my eye right away haha. Even before walking in, I got the feeling that this place was the real deal. For reference, I visited on a weekday evening.

Inside Kkamon: a Vietnamese street-side mood

I walked in through the bar area and was warmly greeted and shown to a comfortable seat. Best of all — not just the exterior, but the interior too, was dripping with Vietnamese local vibes haha. The interior genuinely felt like I'd been transported to Vietnam, and I loved it. Delivery seemed to be going strong too, with orders being packed and sent out constantly. Already smelled like a legit hidden gem...

How ordering works: tablet T-order at your table

At this Bundang pho favorite, you can order conveniently right from your seat via tablet, no need to flag down staff. No hassle, no mixed-up orders — I honestly find T-order this convenient every time haha.

Kkamon's menu: pho options and the office worker set

I came in simply thinking about pho, but the menu was way more extensive than I expected. And pho wasn't just one type — there was Kkamon pho with an extra spoonful of the restaurant's signature touch, boiled pork pho, pork backbone pho, and even a seasonal squid pho for fall. Squid pho! The combo of squid and pho felt fresh and fun haha. I'm definitely trying that next time. There was also a well-put-together office worker set — perfect for a lunch visit. Great for when ordering just one dish feels like too little, but ordering several feels like too much haha.

Everything on the menu at this Bundang Kkamon looked delicious, so after much deliberation I placed my order and waited at the table. There were plenty of other diners besides us, plus a steady stream of delivery orders, so I figured the food might come out a bit slow — but surprisingly, it came out really fast haha.

What does Kkamon fried rice taste like?

First up, the Kkamon fried rice arrived!!!

Passed the visual test right away. The fried rice, coated in fluffy egg, was seriously delicious. The fluffy bits of meat paired really well with the rice too. It had that clean, not-too-intense flavor that's exactly my style haha. I'm getting hungry again just writing this. It was so good, T_T.

And then, Kkamon's signature dish — the pho! Being their signature menu, I feel like you could order just this one dish at Kkamon and still call your visit a success. Since it's a proper restaurant in Jeongja-dong, I think it's great for dinner or as a lunch spot for office workers.

Of course, there are plenty of even more delicious menu items too haha.

Stir-fried water spinach: the side that beat Vietnam

We also ordered a generous portion of stir-fried water spinach (morning glory), so by the end of the meal I was seriously stuffed. Honestly, this stir-fried water spinach was even better than what I ate in actual Vietnam haha. It was legit.

There were even crispy flakes on top, giving it a nice crunchy bite. Totally my style. I genuinely felt like I was in Vietnam. If I'd finished with a Vietnamese egg coffee for dessert it would've been perfect, right? Haha.

Is Kkamon's bún chả the best in Jeongja-dong?

And that day, we also ordered bún chả (grilled pork with rice vermicelli), so we ate until we were truly stuffed and satisfied haha.

Every single dish at Kkamon was genuinely delicious, but the bún chả was the real deal too...

Dipping the noodles into the bún chả sauce and slurping it up... it was seriously the best bún chả of my life, T_T. So delicious haha. I felt like I didn't even need to go to Vietnam anymore. ^^
