Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch, a Bucheon favorite with a huge reputation as a great place to bring your parents! I was craving a delicious Korean set meal, so I zipped over for weekday lunch~! Thanks to all the neatly presented, generous side dishes, I had such a satisfying meal ╹ڡ╹
A Korean restaurant near Kkachiul Station, with parking and a lunch wait
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is close to Bucheon's Kkachiul Station, so it is wonderfully easy to get to. There is also a parking lot, making a visit by car really convenient. Even during the busy weekday lunch rush, the kind parking attendant guided each car in order, so I was able to park without a hitch.

This really is a true Kkachiul gem—the lunchtime peak brings an enormous queue! We arrived around 11:30, and it was already completely full. If you are visiting, I recommend coming early or avoiding peak time by a little!

There were especially lots of older diners, which is proof of just how wholesome and thoughtfully prepared this Korean food is! Restaurants full of older people are always the real no-fail gems, right? So my trust level shot right up before I had even eaten.

Ordering the Tteuranchae Bapsang and charcoal-grilled pork
The menu has the Tteuranchae Bapsang, the basic table set, as well as a variety of individual dishes. You can enjoy a set menu with a great lineup, but even if you do not order a set, simply choose the Tteuranchae Bapsang plus at least one individual dish to suit your taste.

We ordered the Tteuranchae Bapsang for two and charcoal-grilled pork. There were so many people that I expected a long wait, but the table was set much sooner than expected, which was so nice!!!! The star charcoal-grilled pork was Korean pork neck aged in a special marinade and grilled over charcoal, packed with smoky flavor and juices~ There were also no fewer than 12 side dishes, and every single one was seasoned just right. With rich cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), freshly served hot dolsotbap (stone-pot rice), and nutty nurungji (scorched rice) to finish, the combination was simply perfect.

Twelve side dishes and a self-service refill corner
The side dishes alone were incredibly varied: seasoned bellflower root, siraegi (dried radish greens), garlic scapes, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), gochujang-pickled peppers, braised potatoes, fried eggplant, braised burdock root, lettuce wraps, and more. My eyes were practically darting around because I did not know where to put my chopsticks first. One bowl of rice would not be nearly enough for this.

On top of that, you can freely refill these plentiful side dishes at the self-service corner. I loved that the warm dishes were kept gently heated on burners, and that even the cheonggukjang and rice could be refilled—how amazing is that? For hygiene reasons, just ask a staff member separately for japchae, and they will kindly bring it over! But honestly, the portions are generous from the start, so you can eat until you burst without getting a refill :)

Charcoal-grilled pork with cheonggukjang and lettuce wraps
First of all, this cheonggukjang alone makes half a bowl of rice disappear in a flash!!! Its deep, nutty flavor is on another level; mix it into rice and it could easily make you finish a whole bowl all by itself.

The charcoal-grilled pork was not overly seasoned, tender, and wonderfully clean-tasting. You absolutely have to wrap this in lettuce, haha. The more I ate, the more immediately I understood why it is known as a Kkachiul favorite for bringing your parents.

The fried eggplant and japchae were especially insane!!! I guarantee that even eggplant haters who avoid it because of its distinctive texture could enjoy this one! And the glossy japchae was seasoned perfectly too, so I absolutely devoured it.

A hearty finish with scorched rice and coffee
No matter how full I was, I could not give up this nutty nurungji! Maybe because the weather has turned cool lately, having something hot settle into my stomach made my whole body feel warm and gave the meal a clean finish.

And coffee for the real finale~ From beginning to end, it felt like being warmly and generously looked after, making it a completely satisfying meal.

Oh, and you can also buy this restaurant's specialty cheonggukjang and neatly prepared side dishes separately. At ₩5,000 per pack, it would be lovely to take home any side dish that suited your palate. I completely fell for the neat side dishes and generous table at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch! With its gentle, easy-on-the-stomach menu, I truly felt there was no better place in Bucheon to bring your parents.
