Let me introduce a place in Jeonju Hanok Village that is just perfect for a light snack, haha.

Dakgangjeong I found in Jeonju Hanok Village
When you visit Jeonju Hanok Village, hunting for food is just as much fun as looking around, right? 😊 This time, I visited Mannyeon Dakgangjeong Hanok Village Direct Store (만년닭강정 한옥마을직영점), a popular food stop in Jeonju Hanok Village!

The crisp dakgangjeong (Korean sweet-and-spicy fried chicken bites) with its sweet-and-spicy sauce was great as a snack and just right when I got peckish while sightseeing around the village 😋

Dakgangjeong flavors and side dishes
Along with dakgangjeong, there was a wide range of sides, including sotteok-sotteok (rice cake and sausage skewers), sweet potato cheese sticks, fried jjonddeugi (chewy snack strips), and cheese balls!

Both the dakgangjeong and shrimp gangjeong could be ordered mild, spicy, soy sauce, or fried, and there were medium and large sizes as well as half-and-half orders, so it was easy to choose according to your taste or group size 😃

They also had beer, soju, makgeolli (Korean rice wine), moju (a sweet Jeonju rice wine), and soft drinks that go well with dakgangjeong, so it seemed like an easy menu to enjoy while walking around Jeonju Hanok Village!

You can really feel how generous it is just from the photos, right? The sauced dakgangjeong and crisp fried chicken were both in view, making it even harder to decide which flavor to choose! A half-and-half order would be even better since you could enjoy two flavors at once, haha.
The sign said they use fresh fruit sauce, so it can still be enjoyed after it cools, haha. It also said to leave the lid slightly open after takeout so the steam can escape and help prevent it from getting soggy—good to keep in mind if you are taking it back to your accommodation or home! 👍🏻

Take it around the village or back to your accommodation
The takeout was packed neatly, so it was easy to carry around. It seemed like a hassle-free option to take along while exploring Hanok Village or to eat back at your accommodation! Haha.

The takeout box was large and neat, with the dakgangjeong packed securely so it would not get messed up. It was easy to set up with a drink and eat right away, and perfect as either a snack or a meal 🍗

Trying the regular seasoned flavor right away
I ordered the regular seasoned flavor and ate it there instead of taking it out. Since the dakgangjeong had just come out, it was still wonderfully warm, and the sauce had soaked in nicely and moistly, which made it taste even better! 👀

When I picked up a piece, the outside was crisp and the inside was moist, so the texture was great. The regular flavor was not overly spicy, with a sweet-and-spicy balance that was easy to enjoy! Haha. As expected, dakgangjeong tastes best when you eat it warm right away.

The glossy sauce coated the dakgangjeong evenly, so every bite gave a proper sweet-and-spicy flavor! The pieces were easy to eat in one bite, and the meat was moist, making them perfect for several people to pick up one by one. The regular flavor was easy to enjoy, and I kept reaching for more 🍗

When I cut one in half, the meat inside looked moist and thick, making it even more appetizing. The outside was crisp and the inside soft, so the combination of sauce and texture was really good 😋

If I had not been driving, I think this would have been an absolutely perfect pairing with beer!! Haha. This seasoned dakgangjeong was delicious eaten warm right away, with a nice soft texture 😊 If you are looking for something simple to eat in Jeonju Hanok Village, Mannyeon Dakgangjeong Hanok Village Direct Store was a good choice, haha. There were lots of dakgangjeong varieties and side dishes, making it easy to choose what suited my taste, and the regular seasoned flavor was especially delicious warm and crisp when I ate it right away! It would be great as a snack when you get hungry while exploring Jeonju Hanok Village, or as a late-night snack back at your accommodation after taking it out. If you are looking for food in Jeonju Hanok Village, I think it is worth stopping by! 🤗
