For my mother-in-law's birthday, we visited The European Gwanggyo, a Gwanggyo favorite, after booking a 2nd-floor room via CatchTable!

Firewood stacked up at the entrance... the very source material of wood-fired pizza! This is why the pizza here is seriously incredible ㅠ This place is truly, truly, TRULY a wood-fired pizza spot in Gwanggyo ㅜㅜ

Booking a second-floor private room at The European Gwanggyo for a family birthday
The European Gwanggyo has private rooms on both the 1st and 2nd floors, so you can choose when booking. We wanted a quiet meal as a family in a room, so we booked the 2nd-floor room in advance. Outside food isn't allowed, and that includes cakes.

Whoa, this is a wood-fired pizza restaurant run by a chef formerly of the Shilla Hotel. That's basically foreshadowing — the pizza really is that good...

The menu and the corkage-free event at The European Gwanggyo
The menu at The European Gwanggyo also has salads. The salad prices are almost pasta prices, but they look delicious ㅜ Still, the pasta and wood-fired pizza were so good I'd rather order more pizza and pasta.

This is a wood-fired pizza spot. Be sure to order plenty of pizza,,!

At the time corkage was ₩20,000 ㅡㅡ but right now there's a corkage-free event running from 9/18 to 11/30 ㅜㅜ If you're interested in a Gwanggyo restaurant with free corkage, go check it out.

How much do six adults need to order?
Hahaha three women and three men, all adults, ordered this much — but it was actually a bit short.

It's a Gwanggyo favorite and we hadn't been in a while, so hahaha we ordered a bunch of stuff. This dish is seafood tomato pasta. The pasta itself has a small amount of noodles but plenty of toppings.

Truffle cream homemade gnocchi, 23,000 won
Truffle cream homemade gnocchi, ₩23,000 — we swapped the gnocchi for pasta noodles.

Mixing the rich creamy sauce with a rich poached egg made it even richer, and moist and so delicious ;;;
Wow, I was the only one who scraped this dish clean... it's gnocchi but with potato gnocchi swapped for noodles. Truly thick and concentrated... I wanted to mix it with rice hahaha.

Classic bolognese fresh-pasta lasagna, 23,000 won
Ha,, this lasagna is stunning from the visuals alone,,, even one slice is filling and deeply flavored,, the sauce is truly unforgettable ㅜㅜ
Authentic bolognese fresh pasta lasagna, ₩23,000. Genuinely delicious... the sauce was a perfect match,,, I basically buried my face in it.

Seafood tomato pasta with jambon, chewy like sujebi (hand-torn dough)
It's a sauce like aglio e olio but topped with jambon. The noodles look like tteokbokki rice cakes, more like a pasta version of hand-torn dough soup. It looks heavy but it's spicy, which was an unexpected kick.

Two wood-fired pizzas: basil burrata and burrata margherita
I can honestly say this is The European Gwanggyo's signature dish. Signature basil burrata cheese pizza, ₩27,000. The basil sauce and burrata cheese go so well together. It was way better than the plain version, but our family's opinions were split hahaha — probably just a matter of taste.

This one is the plain burrata margherita pizza, ₩28,000. The crust edge stayed chewy, and I wiped up the leftover pasta sauce with it hahaha.

It looked like this at first

And ended up like this~ Three women and three men ate it, and the women ended up stuffed while the men were still hungry hahaha.
Delicious food and a great atmosphere at The European Gwanggyo, a Gwanggyo favorite! Parking was convenient too, and the wood-fired pizza drove me crazy. Recommended for family dinners or a nice-atmosphere restaurant in Gwanggyo! And yes, the chef really is from the Shilla Hotel hahaha.
