What the dining room at Heukmaneul Boribap looks like
The inside of Heukmaneul Boribap is spacious and clean, which is a plus. With plenty of tables, it seems great for group visits and group reservations too. Here's the interior~

We came for an early opening run so it was pretty relaxed, but once lunchtime hit, it got busy fast and every seat filled up.

Proof it's a real local favorite. It seemed like lots of families and groups come here. With kids' chairs set up, it looks great to visit with a baby too.
Menu, prices and how the table kiosk works
Heukmaneul Boribap's main menu has two options: the black garlic bossam (boiled pork) barley rice set at ₩17,000, and the black garlic jeyuk (stir-fried pork) barley rice set at ₩14,000. You order through the kiosk on the table.

The bossam barley rice set can be ordered for one person. You can also add extra bossam, barley rice, and so on. There were two of us, so we ordered two black garlic jeyuk barley rice sets.
If you write a review, you get a free bottle of makgeolli (rice wine), and there was a map of Danyang sights posted up, which was nice as a traveler haha.
What comes with the black garlic jeyuk barley rice set
Once we ordered, the banchan (side dishes) came out quickly — there were a lot of them and they all looked fresh.

The black garlic barley rice came out first, and it had a nice fragrant garlic smell with great flavor.

The rice was cooked just right, nice and fluffy. Then the main dish, the black garlic jeyuk, arrived.

Their own house-made black garlic sauce was drizzled on top. Thanks to that, the jeyuk had even better flavor.

The meat pieces were big and generous, so it was a very filling meal. For two people, the portion was pretty substantial,, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) also came out, and it had that classic, no-frills doenjang jjigae taste that paired really well with the jeyuk!

A well put-together spread, complete!

This spread really felt like Danyang's home-style cooking haha. It had a healthy, clean taste that I really liked.

Two ways to eat it: lettuce wraps or mixed bibimbap style
Wrapping the jeyuk and side dishes in lettuce leaves was delicious too,

and mixing in the namul (seasoned vegetables) to make bibimbap was also great (kind of a must-do when eating barley rice haha). That seasoning sauce in particular really boosted the flavor.

We ate so much we were completely stuffed! It felt like a really satisfying meal haha.
