Suwon beef restaurant with hanwoo wasabi and solo platters: Yeongpo

In short

Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch is a hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant with private rooms in Ingye-dong, Suwon, near Suwon City Hall Station. Two single-serving hanwoo platters brought sirloin, chuck flap, short rib finger, skirt, brisket point, chain and flat iron to compare side by side, plus hanwoo wasabi piled with wasabi and complimentary doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice) and patbingsu (shaved ice with red beans) to finish. For a day when you want a little of many cuts, Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch also has parking and rooms sorted.

First impressions of Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch in Ingye-dong, Suwon

On a day when I wanted proper beef in Suwon, I headed to Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch. Ingye-dong has so many good restaurants that it's always hard to pick, but the moment I walked in, the space felt bigger and cleaner than I expected — a great first impression.

What stood out most was how well-equipped this hanwoo restaurant is with private rooms, making it a great fit for family gatherings, birthdays, or a slightly more relaxed work dinner.

Spacious, clean interior of Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch

What I liked most this time was being able to order hanwoo as a single-serving platter with a variety of cuts.

What are the private rooms and the mood like?

The interior overall felt clean and upscale, and the space itself was spacious enough that it never felt cramped — plus, there was barely any of that typical Korean BBQ smell lingering.

With several private rooms available, I also liked not having to worry much about other diners around us while eating. It made me think this place would work well for work dinners, family gatherings, or a special occasion like a birthday in Ingye-dong.

With so many different room options, it looked well suited to all kinds of groups — family or work dinners alike!

Which seven cuts come in two single-serving hanwoo platters?

That day at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch, we ordered two single-serving platters!

Eating a lot of one cut is nice too, but personally I find it more fun to try a bit of many different cuts like this. The platter had sirloin, chuck flap, short rib fingers, skirt steak, brisket point, chain, and flat iron, so we could compare texture and flavor across the different cuts as we ate.

The beef was really tender and practically melted in the mouth — that savory richness and juiciness you get from good hanwoo. And the portion was more generous than I expected, too.

With hanwoo, the price often makes it feel like a stretch to order several different things, so being able to try multiple cuts through this single-serving platter setup felt like one of Yeongpo Hwa-ro's biggest strengths.

There's also fun in trying each cut one by one and asking yourself, 'which cut do I like best?'

So if you're heading out for beef in Ingye-dong and want to taste a variety of cuts, this place would suit you especially well.

Hanwoo wasabi: piled high and still not sharp

Do you know hanwoo wasabi, where you pile wasabi generously onto juicy hanwoo beef?

Hanwoo wasabi piled generously with wasabi

Apparently because wasabi is fat-soluble, when you eat it with juicy, high-quality hanwoo like this, you can pile on so much you'd think 'is this really okay?' and still not get that nose-tingling spiciness. The hanwoo at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch was really high quality and juicy, so it wasn't spicy at all and was genuinely delicious. The rich, savory fattiness of the hanwoo combined with wasabi's sharp, clean bite cut through the richness while actually making the beef's flavor come through more clearly.

It went especially well with fattier cuts like chuck flap or sirloin.

Finishing with complimentary doenjang sulbap and patbingsu

The meal didn't end with just the beef — there was a good variety of rice dishes too, and we finished with the complimentary doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice).

It was warm and filling — a perfect way to wrap up after the beef — and the side dishes served alongside, like shredded scallions and pickles, were clean-tasting and paired well with the meat.

And on top of that, patbingsu was complimentary too!

Who should book Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch?

What I liked most about Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch was being able to order hanwoo platters in single-serving portions. When one cut alone feels like it's not enough variety, it's great being able to try sirloin, chuck flap, short rib fingers, skirt steak, and more all in one go.

Above all, the beef itself was high quality and full of juice, so grilling it piece by piece really delivered. With clean, upscale private rooms too, it suits family gatherings, dates, or work dinners equally well.

If you want to enjoy good-quality, juicy beef across a variety of cuts in single servings, I strongly recommend Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch!
