It was my mom's birthday. Since she loves a nice atmosphere, I searched carefully and thought long and hard before picking this place — a restaurant in Hanam called 'Bokkeriu.'

Is parking easy?

We drove about 40 minutes from home and arrived in Hanam. Bokkeriu has its own private parking lot right in front of the store for customers, so parking was super convenient.

A really spacious lot that fits a lot of cars. At a glance it looked like it could fit dozens of cars, so even with two cars between us, parking was no problem at all.

After parking, we headed into the restaurant entrance. The space that greets you right as you walk in. The entrance is beautifully decorated with wine bottle displays. Past this space and up one flight of stairs is the restaurant on the 2nd floor.

The 2nd floor was also full of wine decorations.

The interior is very modern and calm. A clean, no-frills interior. The inside had a big picture window letting you see the great view outside, and the lighting was so good it felt open and airy. The whole meal, you could feel like you were out on an outing — this place, Hanam's Bokkeriu.

Since we'd booked two days in advance, they had already neatly set our plates on the table.

The salad came out first. The vegetables were fresh and the cheese was nutty and good. And that plum ade you can see behind the salad is this place's surprise hidden menu item. So refreshing and sweet, and really delicious — totally recommend it!

Shrimp bisque pasta

Shrimp bisque pasta. A pasta topped with three plump, meaty tiger shrimp. Already overwhelming just by its looks...

Sirloin mushroom risotto

Sirloin mushroom risotto. The meat was tender and the mushroom flavor filled your mouth.

With the flower basket we'd prepared for mom's birthday added to the table, it made for one gorgeous shot!

Korean beef pizza

Last but not least, the Korean beef pizza showed up. There was more Korean beef piled on than expected, so it had a really satisfying chew.

The three of us — mom and her daughters — got to spend mom's special birthday in a beautiful, atmospheric restaurant, and I was grateful for the day. Mom, you loved the restaurant too, right?

On our way out after the meal, I snapped a photo of the table next to ours. Outside that window was an even more gorgeous view of lush green trees, so I captured it in a shot.
