A recommended Dongtan Mokdong restaurant — 'Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch,' a handmade pork cutlet spot

Kkot Gatsu is an authentic handmade pork cutlet restaurant that uses top-grade Korean pork. Frying the pork cleanly with no gamey smell is this place's biggest strength.

The menu and the self-serve bar at Kkot Gatsu
The menu has a wide variety, from different cutlets to cold soba, udon, and tempura.

The self-serve bar was great too. It's neatly set up so you can grab extra sauces or side dishes as needed, and take extra plates too — very convenient.

Flower cutlet set 19,500 won plus curry udon 10,500 won
Flower cutlet set ₩19,500, curry udon ₩10,500. My husband chose the flower cutlet set with tenderloin cutlet and spicy-flavor hwa-udon, while I ordered the curry udon.
Lemon salt, wasabi, truffle salt, truffle oil, and a rich sauce — being able to experience so many new flavors within a single plate is probably why this place is considered one of Dongtan's top pork cutlet restaurants.

How the tenderloin cutlet tastes and feels
The tenderloin cutlet had a soft, moist texture while keeping a perfectly crisp batter.

The natural flavor of the meat came through with no gamey smell, so one bite immediately told you it was top-grade Korean pork.

Spicy hwa-udon (flower udon), the set's noodle choice
We chose the spicy version of hwa-udon, and the sharp yet deep broth paired perfectly with sipping between bites of cutlet.

My husband said the spicy udon broth balanced out the richness of the fried cutlet, keeping things interesting all the way through, and that it tasted even better shared between the two of us.

Curry udon loaded with garlic flakes
The curry udon was loaded with garlic flakes and meat. The curry broth had a rich, deep flavor without being overly heavy, and went down smoothly.
The garlic flakes blended with the curry aroma, doubling the savory, rich flavor.
There was plenty of meat too, so the bowl of curry udon alone made for a hearty, satisfying lunch.

The noodles were boiled to a nice chewy texture, soaking up the curry broth well so every last bite was delicious.

A lollipop after the meal and the service
After the meal, we even got a lollipop for dessert — such a small touch, but it made me really happy. All the staff moved proactively and treated us kindly, so we could enjoy the whole meal comfortably.

Both my husband and I were very satisfied with lunch.
As a top pick among Dongtan pork cutlet restaurants, Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is a place whose handmade cutlets — made with carefully selected ingredients and meticulous standards — you'll think about again after just one visit.
