Cheongdam hair salon root touch-up for grown-out hair color: Anew Hair
In short
Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch is a hair salon in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Gangnam-gu Office Station Exit 2. With the roots grown out and no longer matching the previously dyed lengths, Manager Soyoon checked the hair's condition and gave a consultation first, then colored the roots only instead of redoing the whole head. The color came out even from root to tip and looked neat with very little styling.

I've been growing my hair out for a while now, and at some point the roots started really standing out. Redoing the whole dye job felt like a lot, but leaving the roots as they were made the color look increasingly patchy, so this time I decided to just get a root touch-up.

This time I visited Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch!

It's a 5-minute walk from Gangnam-gu Office Station Exit 2.

Inside Anew Hair Cheongdam: salon atmosphere and seating
I'd been looking around the Gangnam-gu Office area for a salon and ended up here — Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch had more space for treatments than I expected, which I liked. The seats weren't cramped together, and the place felt big enough for several people to be treated at once, giving it a relaxed overall vibe.

Hair check and consultation with Manager Soyoon before coloring
This time I was treated by Manager Soyoon! I told her I wanted a root touch-up, and instead of jumping straight to applying dye, she first carefully checked the current state of my hair.

She specifically checked the color difference between the previously dyed sections and the newly grown roots, assessed my hair condition, and then went through the consultation. Since a root touch-up is all about naturally matching the existing hair color to the new growth, I really appreciated that she took the time for a proper consultation before starting.

For someone like me who already had dyed hair with roots grown out, it's not just about applying dye to the roots — how naturally you connect the current color to the root color matters a lot. Manager Soyoon checked all of this and explained her approach for the treatment, which made it easy to just trust her and relax.

Why a root touch-up instead of a full dye?
While looking into dye options at Gangnam hair salons, I found a lot of ash brown and other natural brown shades, but this time I went with tidying up just the roots and blending them naturally into my existing color instead of a full re-dye.

Once the treatment began, she carefully applied dye focused on the root area. Since a root touch-up only requires attention to the newly grown section, the time commitment felt a lot less demanding than a full dye job — that's another advantage.

I felt like this treatment is a great fit for people like me who want to keep their existing dye color while just tidying up the regrown roots.

How the hair color looked after the root touch-up
After the dye job, my hair definitely looked a lot neater. Once the color gap from the regrown roots was fixed, my hair color looked even overall, and it felt tidy even without much extra styling.

They even brought me cookies and coffee in the middle of the treatment haha.
Who is a root touch-up at Anew Hair Cheongdam right for?
If you're looking for dye services at a Gangnam hair salon and value a proper consultation before treatment, this place should work well for you. Getting my root touch-up done this way — with a hair check and consultation before jumping into the treatment I wanted — made me feel a lot more at ease. Next time I want to try a full color change, maybe something like ash brown. Depending on the hairstyle, adding a C-curl perm could also change the whole vibe quite a bit, so I'm thinking about my next hairstyle too.

This should be useful not just for people looking for a salon around Cheongdam, but also those checking out salons in Nonhyeon-dong or near Gangnam-gu Office. If you're like me and bothered by the color gap between your regrown roots and existing dye, doing a root touch-up instead of a full re-dye could be a great way to tidy things up. This time I got both the consultation and the treatment from Manager Soyoon at Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch, and what I liked most was that the treatment was tailored to my actual hair condition.
