If you're looking for good, affordable meat in Sanbon, I recommend this place! I went to Geobugi Dongne (거북이동네), where you can enjoy everything from pork belly to pork neck, jowl meat, and gabrisal, plus thin-sliced pork for shabu-shabu.
Interior seating and atmosphere

Geobugi Dongne's dining room was spacious and comfortable overall.

Every table was roomy enough to fit four people, which would be great for a work dinner or a family outing. The tables weren't cramped together and the seats themselves had plenty of room, so it looked comfortable for visiting with kids or a bigger group!

Order sizes and table setting fee
You order through a kiosk! The first order starts at 500g, additional orders start at 200g, and the table setting fee is ₩5,000 per table.

Another thing that sets Geobugi Dongne apart is that they also sell thin-sliced pork. You can eat it shabu-shabu style or grill it on the pan, so you can enjoy both shabu-shabu and grilled meat at the same table.
What's in the huge self-serve bar

One thing I really liked was the huge self-serve bar. There's no table setting brought to you here — you go grab it yourself. There was a wide variety, from vegetables to pickled side dishes, so it was convenient to take as much as you needed.
When you want to add more wrap veggies or side dishes while eating meat, you just go help yourself, so there's no need to feel awkward about asking.

And the self-serve bar even has ice cream and coffee. After eating your fill of meat, you can cleanse your palate with ice cream or finish off with a cup of coffee, making the whole meal feel complete.

From the self-serve bar we brought over some sauces to go with the meat, including wasabi, plus pickled sides that go well in wraps.
The couple set, 500g

We ordered the couple set at 500g. It's a combo that lets you try pork belly, jowl meat, pork neck, and gabrisal together, so it was nice to sample a range of cuts rather than sticking to just one.

The set comes with an assortment of mushrooms alongside the meat!

How was the pork belly?
The staff grilled the meat on the pan until it was golden brown.
We started with the pork belly. Honestly, given the low price, I wondered if it might be dry, but once I tried it, it was way better than expected!

The ratio of lean meat to fat was just right, so it wasn't dry at all and you could really taste the juiciness. I tried it with just a little wasabi on top, and you could really taste the savory flavor of the meat itself!

Dipping it in curry powder was totally my thing too!

Adding pickled hot pepper strips into the wrap gave it a tangy, crunchy bite that cut through the richness and made it even better!

Along with the pork belly, we tried the pork neck, jowl meat, and gabrisal one by one, and enjoyed all of them. Each cut had a slightly different texture and savory flavor, which made picking through them fun.
The extra pork belly we ordered

Another thing I liked about the set is that after trying several cuts, you can order more of whichever one you liked best. After tasting a few cuts with the couple set, we ordered extra pork belly, since it was our favorite!

Finishing with mak guksu
After eating our fill of meat, we finished up by ordering mak guksu (cold buckwheat noodles) too. With bits of ice floating in the broth, it had a clean, refreshing taste that felt like it washed away all the greasiness from the meat.

Ending a meat meal with mak guksu really is a great combination.

₩60,000 total for two
We ate a genuinely hearty amount of meat and even finished with mak guksu, yet the total came to about ₩60,000!
If you want to eat plenty of delicious meat without breaking the bank, this seems like a great spot for a family meal or a relaxed meat get-together with friends. 😊
