Mountain-view Korean restaurant in Bucheon: Gim Myeongju
In short
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, serving set meals with views of Wonmisan. We ordered two Tteuranchae Bapsang meals and borigulbi, enjoying pot rice, japchae, chewy-crisp fried eggplant, and cheonggukjang. Verdict: a satisfying drive-out meal to share with parents.

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a great place in Jak-dong, Bucheon, to take your parents! It’s a Korean set-meal restaurant near Kkachiul Station, so it makes for a lovely drive, and Wonmisan is right beside it—the view is sooo nice if you sit by the window. And they have borigulbi (dried yellow corvina), which my mom loves 💗✨
A Jak-dong Korean set-meal restaurant for parents
The parking lot is spacious and group reservations are possible, so I think it would be perfect for a parent’s birthday or taking elders out. Above all, I loved that there were plenty of parking spaces 😎

We went on a weekday afternoon, and there were quite a few people even before dinner time. I feel like it must be a waiting-list spot on weekends and at lunch and dinner peak times, so I definitely recommend reserving for a group gathering!

It’s below the mountain, so the air is lovely, and even the road into Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang is pretty. It’s perfect for a drive-and-lunch course ♡ But it was great for dinner too. The road with its lights on was sooo pretty ✨

There are lots of Korean set-meal restaurants in Jak-dong, Bucheon, but not many good ones with borigulbi, right? My mom loves it so much, and while looking for it, I found it at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang〰️
The tables are spacious—just right for gatherings. The restaurant is clean, roomy, and comfortable too. I looooved the window seats. You can see the mountain and the fields 🌱 It feels like you’ve driven out to the countryside.

We ordered two Tteuranchae Bapsang meals plus borigulbi. Since the rice came in stone pots, I thought it would take a while, but it arrived in barely five minutes after we ordered 🥹

A full table of stone-pot rice and fried eggplant
If you like Korean set meals, I recommend Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang in Jak-dong, Bucheon! Your parents will absolutely love it if you take them—especially Mom 🤍 She said the side dishes were varied, neat, and delicious.

There were lots of seasoned vegetable sides, plus japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), which I love, and insanely, insanely, insanely delicious fried eggplant. I want to know their fried eggplant recipe.

Such a huge borigulbi. I prefer smaller gulbi, but borigulbi is my mom’s absolute favorite, haha.

When you order borigulbi, they give you green tea water too. Mixing rice into the tea and placing borigulbi on top was seriously delicious. 🫶

A whole earthenware bowl of cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) came out, and it was refillable, so we ate until we were stuffed. Every side dish was delicious too at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang in Jak-dong, Bucheon ✨

Most of all, I loved that the rice came in a stone pot. Stone-pot rice, not a stainless-steel pot ♡ How did they make this? The eggplant was coated in glutinous-rice batter—chewy and crisp outside, soft and moist inside ㅠㅜㅜ

It’s sad when a Korean set-meal restaurant has no japchae. It had been such a long time since I’d had japchae, and it was delicious.

I’m more of a bread person than a rice person, but these side dishes left me no choice but to eat rice, so I finished all the stone-pot rice and scorched-rice tea. With pickled chili peppers, pickled garlic stems, and seasoned balloon flower root, how could I not eat rice? 🫠

For any side dishes you need more of, head to the self-serve bar! They even had yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), which wasn’t among the basic side dishes.

The cheonggukjang was exactly the flavor I love. Yum yum—cheonggukjang packed with radish, napa cabbage, and tofu. I’d already finished half a bowl of rice with the stew alone, haha. Doenjang stew is great too, but cheonggukjang has its own charm ♡

Mix rice into the green tea water, top it with a piece of borigulbi, and eat! Now I understand why Mom likes it. It wasn’t fishy at all, just nicely salty and sooo good,, ♡ The glutinous-rice fried eggplant was soooo delicious. We ate all the one that came as a basic side, so I went to the self-serve bar—and some had just been fried. I was moved 💖

I was full, but there was still the scorched-rice tea left. I love it enough to eat Korean set meals just for this 〰️ The amazing thing about borigulbi is that it looks like it might be fishy, but it isn’t. It was delicious with cold water and also with hot scorched-rice tea!

Grilled mackerel is delicious too, but I highly, highly recommend the borigulbi ✨ It was such a delicious meal that next time I want to try the borigulbi set.

If you’re looking for a Korean set-meal restaurant in Bucheon to take your parents to, I recommend Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang near Kkachiul Station. It was easy to find, in the area where lots of Jak-dong restaurants are gathered ✨ I enjoyed it too, but I was especially pleased that Mom was so satisfied. Next time: the borigulbi set 💗
