The pork gukbap (rice soup) had a generous amount of meat, which I liked The bone soup came in a huge bowl and had a big portion too — I was surprised The self-bar had a wide variety of items, all neatly arranged Great value for the take-home raw portion price Being able to pay with Gyeonggi regional currency was convenient

It's on the right side of the road just before you reach Eulji University Hospital I got to enjoy the flavor of a sundaeguk spot already famous in Yongin, right here in Nokyang-dong

I visited out of curiosity since it just opened in September, and overall the portions were so generous that I left feeling really full

To celebrate the new opening, they're running a free chalsundae event for the whole month of September I went for gukbap but got to eat chalsundae along with it — a nice bonus

A take-home raw portion for two that felt like three Ordering it after dining in store got me a ₩16,000 discount

Inside the restaurant and what's on the self-serve bar

Since it's a newly opened spot, the interior was clean all around

The tables weren't crammed together, and the inner space was bigger than I expected — it looked good for larger groups too

There was a separate self-bar on one side, stocked with kimchi, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), chives, green onion, pickled garlic, cheongyang chili, onion, and salted shrimp — you could take as much as you needed

Further inside, there was also a room-like separated space for group seating

It looked suitable for dining with several people, family gatherings, or group meals

Near the register, there were also gangjeong (sweet rice puffs) and candy for dessert

They also had hair ties set out for people with long hair — a small touch, but nice that they thought of it

The complimentary chalsundae came out first

It comes standard with kimchi, kkakdugi, salted shrimp, ssamjang (dipping sauce), onion, and chili

There was sesame at the table, so I ground some and added it in

It was interesting — this place has you grind sesame into the sundaeguk yourself

I also grabbed chives, green onion, and pickled garlic from the self-bar

Pork gukbap, 11,000 won — plenty of meat

I tried the pork gukbap first, and it had noticeably more meat than I expected — a plus

It wasn't just broth-heavy — every spoonful brought up meat along with the soup, and there was plenty of substance. One bowl left me genuinely full

Adding chives or green onion made it a bit more refreshing, and a touch of salted shrimp paired well with the meat

Pork bone soup, 11,000 won — a surprisingly big pot

The bone soup we ordered alongside surprised me the moment it arrived, just because of how big the bowl was It felt noticeably larger than a typical bone soup bowl, and both the ingredients and the broth were generous too

I felt the portion was really good for the price, and I especially liked that the broth was never scarce — always plenty in the bowl Hangover soups can taste great at first if the seasoning is strong but get heavy after a while — here the broth wasn't overly salty, so I could eat comfortably to the last spoonful

Uncooked take-home pack for two that feeds three

After finishing our meal, we also picked up a raw take-home portion

I ordered it to eat again at home, but once I actually got it, it felt way too generous to call it just two servings — closer to three, honestly

The take-home portion was so large it looked like plenty for eating with family at home too

What I liked even more was that they threw in kimchi and kkakdugi for free with the take-home order

The in-store meal was already satisfying, but the value of the take-home portion was good enough that I thought next time it might be worth visiting purely for takeout

Is Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk worth a visit?

This was a good spot to visit when you want a hearty bowl of gukbap or bone soup in Nokyang-dong Especially during the September opening event period, you also get the free chalsundae, which made the visit even more worthwhile Both the in-store meal and the take-home portion were satisfying, so I think I'll come back whenever I'm craving gukbap in Nokyang-dong, Uijeongbu
