Uijeongbu sundaeguk restaurant for group meals: Yetnal Gyeongseong

In short

Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch is a large sundaeguk (pork and blood sausage soup) restaurant that opened September 1 on Dongil-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, between Ganeung and Nokyang stations. The parking lot out front is very wide and the tables are spaced far apart, so Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk suits family and group meals, and the spicy sundaeguk set and the plain sundaeguk set (14,000 won each) are ordered by kiosk. The broth was deep and free of any gamey smell, and both bowls were finished to the last spoonful.

Signature sundaeguk from Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch

I went to Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch, a sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) spot in Uijeongbu today!!! This gukbap restaurant just opened on September 1! Wow, the sundaeguk was seriously rich and delicious,,bbbbb

Where is Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch, and is there parking?

This Uijeongbu gukbap favorite sits right between Ganeung Station and Nokyang Station, so it's close to the subway and easy to get to! Plus the parking lot in front of the restaurant is huge, so parking is a breeze!!

A big dining room built for family and group meals

Wow, the inside is seriously spacious. A truly huge, huge restaurant!!! The gap between tables is also really wide, and since it just opened, everything felt spotless.

Large interior with wide spacing between tables
Spacious hall seating suitable for group gatherings

It looks like a great spot for family gatherings or group meetups too. I think this is the first time I've seen such a clean and spacious sundaeguk restaurant!!! :D

Self-serve side-dish bar and kiosk ordering

There's a self-serve side-dish bar in front of the kitchen, and it's really clean!! All sorts of kimchi, vegetables, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) and more — just help yourself to as much as you need!

Kimchi, vegetables and ssamjang laid out at the self-serve bar

Ordering is easy through the kiosk! I ordered the spicy sundaeguk set for ₩14,000 and the sundaeguk set for ₩14,000 — done! Each table has various sauces, and interestingly, there was also a mini mortar and sesame seeds!

How to grind your own sesame seeds in the mini mortar

Hehe it's so cute, right ㅜㅠ Apparently Gyeongseong Sundaeguk is originally famous for its sesame sundaeguk! You grind the sesame seeds finely and either add them to the broth or dip the sundae in it! Food comes out pretty quickly while you're grinding sesame!

Plate of chal-sundae from the opening event

Aww ㅠㅠ this is the chal-sundae (glutinous sundae) I got as part of the opening event,, and even the way the side dishes came out was seriously clean, right? I was so hungry, and the chal-sundae was genuinely delicious.

What does the spicy sundaeguk set taste like?

When you order the set, you get pyeonyuk (sliced boiled pork) and chal-sundae. I wanted something intense so I picked the spicy sundaeguk, and it's really delicious. It's genuinely rich and, as the name says, properly spicy.

A bowl of spicy red-broth sundaeguk

Wow, the broth at this Uijeongbu gukbap spot is really rich. Depending on your taste, I'd recommend adding dadagi (chili paste), pepper, chives, and green onion!

Ha, looking at the photo makes me want to eat it again, right? It's genuinely delicious,,,, the broth is really rich and there's plenty of meat inside. I really wanted something intense so I added extra dadagi!

The pyeonyuk is really tasty too!!!

Extra dadagi in the regular sundaeguk too!!!

The plain sundaeguk set and choosing what goes in it

And when ordering sundaeguk, you can pick based on your preference: no intestines, no sundae, or sundae only! I ordered the regular sundaeguk, and the amount of meat was massive.

Not a hint of gamey smell, seriously delicious ㅠㅠ and the meat is so tender too!!!

Sundae dipped in ground sesame

Try dipping the sundae in the ground sesame! It's incredibly nutty and delicious ㅠㅠ I also added it to the broth, and the sundaeguk got even richer!!! Genuinely no gamey smell at all, clean and really rich ㅠㅠ

I originally thought, for the sake of my health, I'd leave some of the broth,, but ㅠㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋ no way, the broth was so delicious and rich that I finished it all ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ a total bowl-finish :D

Dessert enjoyed after the meal

Haha, even the dessert afterward was perfect, right? I really recommend this Uijeongbu gukbap favorite, Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch, to everyone. Seriously, seriously recommend the spicy sundaeguk,,, bb
