Guui-dong café with americano refills and shot affogato: Wonz Coffee

I went to have snowflake bingsu (shaved ice) at Wonz Coffee Main Branch, famous for its bakery and coffee near Konkuk University! It's a coffee and dessert spot I've been back to more than once. The staff are friendly, and you can even refill your americano. These days almost nowhere offers refills, so it's genuinely great value!! Recommending this Seoul café near Children's Grand Park!!

The coffee: a quality certificate on the wall

The coffee here is genuinely delicious, made with beans hand-selected and roasted by a national-team-level barista!! The 'quality guarantee' certificate hanging on the wall really adds to the trust. And they're so confident in their new snowflake bingsu that they'll give you a 100% refund if you don't like it!!! It was seriously good.

Wonz Coffee's interior and laptop-friendly seats

It's a simple black-and-white space. Both walls are large glass windows, so overall it feels bright and airy. There are quite a lot of tables and chairs, with outlets scattered around. Great for studying or working on a laptop.

It's tucked inside a neighborhood alley, but during the two hours I sat there, there were really a lot of customers. It felt like the neighborhood's living room!!

Deep Black americano: why the shot comes on the side

The iced americano comes with ice water and the espresso shot served separately. I loved that you can adjust the strength to your taste!! You can also choose your beans — I went with Sirius Deep Black, the nuttiest option. No acidity, just nutty and really delicious!!

Snowflake milk bingsu, sweet without condensed milk

This is the most basic snowflake ice milk bingsu. They also have red bean bingsu with rice cake, and mango bingsu. This one has no other toppings, just the snowflake ice — but don't doubt it, it's sweet and genuinely delicious!!!

The milk itself has natural sweetness, so you don't need condensed milk. And because it's literally made of milk, it's super nutty!!! Zero grainy texture, genuinely smooth!!! And the portion is bigger than expected — too much for one person, and just slightly short for two, so pairing it with a side cookie works well!!

Pro tip: turn the leftover shot into a bingsu affogato

And I made an affogato with the leftover shot from my iced americano — it was seriously so good!!!!! On a completely different level from one made with regular ice cream!! It was so smooth and the flavors came together perfectly!! This is a genuine pro tip haha, you have to try it!!!

Butter rice cake for 2,500 won

The cookies and desserts here are also really good!! And the prices overall are pretty reasonable too, which makes it even better. The chewy texture and the nutty butter aroma were really nice. It's great warmed up and eaten with an americano.!!!
