The moment I looked at the display case, what stole my attention was the wakppu salt bread that's hot on SNS right now 🥐 A crispy salt bread coated in crackly chocolate, filled with yogurt cream and fruit inside — the visual alone grabs you...! Impossible not to buy 🧡

Four breads taken home, prices, and the pineapple bun fan giveaway

What I packed from BYWAY BAKERS were these four: peach yogurt wakppu salt bread ₩7,500, Hong Kong pineapple bun ₩4,500, kaya bagel ₩3,200, and salty financier ₩2,800. There's currently an event where buying the pineapple bun gets you a cute character fan for free!

  • Hong Kong pineapple bun ₩4,500
  • Kaya bagel ₩3,200
  • Salty financier ₩2,800

True to a bakery worth the trip, even the shopping bag design was so full of character haha. The packaging was pretty and I even got a cute freebie, so I felt great the whole way home 😊

What does the Hong Kong pineapple bun taste like?

I couldn't resist the poster outside and brought home the Hong Kong pineapple bun 🍍 The outside is crispy with a savory streusel-like feel, and a thick slab of sandwiched butter means one bite fills your mouth with butter flavor...! The pineapple jam is tangy-sweet and pairs really well with the bread haha

Kaya bagel and salty financier at BYWAY BAKERS

The kaya bagel is packed inside with sweet kaya jam (coconut egg jam) and a thick layer of butter, so every bite hits with sweet-savory flavor! 🧈 The salty financier is the textbook definition of crisp outside, chewy inside! The coarse salt you crunch into on the surface adds a saltiness that makes the sweet-salty combo absolutely the best.

Peach yogurt salt bread

The signature item I was most looking forward to — the yogurt wakppu salt bread wrapped in this cute fruit net packaging! Thoughtfully, a disposable glove was even included.

My first-ever wakppu salt bread...🥐 The satisfaction of cracking it open was seriously the best! Inside the crispy chocolate coating there's a generous amount of white peach and yogurt cream, perfect for when your blood sugar drops!

Is BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo worth a visit?

Every single bread I brought home from BYWAY BAKERS was a hit without exception, so I'm planning to go back soon to work through the rest of the lineup 😍 The interior is spacious and cozy enough to linger in, and the dessert lineup — from freshly baked basics to the visually striking wakppu salt bread — is so solid that I'd strongly recommend it as a bakery-hopping stop! 👍 Try to time your visit to when the bread comes out and grab it warm 💛
