Egg tart café in Anyang's Dongpyeon-maeul: 4-pack gift box, Eggroom

In short

Eggroom is an egg tart specialty dessert café tucked inside the Dongpyeon-maeul café street in Anyang, Gyeonggi. At Eggroom the classic egg tart, signature latte and pablo cake were eaten in-store, and a 4-pack box was packed to take away as a gift, arriving in a yellow box with character stickers that looked gift-ready as it was. Reheated in an air fryer the next day, the tarts were still crisp outside and soft inside, so the 4-pack works well as a thank-you gift.

What does Eggroom look like from outside?

Thanks to the yellow accent color and the cute character standee, I could spot the place from far away. The exterior photo zone is nicely decorated, so it's a great spot for a picture right at the entrance.

Inside Eggroom: seating and interior

The yellow-and-wood interior is dotted with cute props and posters that really amp up the dessert-café mood, haha. The seats had a comfortable amount of space between them too, so it was nice for enjoying dessert quietly.

Classic egg tart and signature latte pairing

Classic egg tart: the pastry shell was really crispy, and the filling inside was moist and smooth like pudding. Not too sweet and nicely savory, it was a solid, no-frills egg tart, easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. There were also a lot of takeout customers while I was there!!

Signature latte & americano: the signature latte, topped with a savory cream, was a great combo of bitter coffee and sweet tart. If you prefer a cleaner taste, pairing with an americano is also recommended.

Eggroom's 4-pack egg tart box: storing and reheating

It exceeded my expectations while eating in-store, so I thought of my friends and ordered an extra 4-box set!! The packaging matches the overall shop concept — a yellow box with signature character stickers — clean but with a fun point, more than enough for a gift. I also appreciated the care taken to pack the tarts snugly so they wouldn't shift around.

Egg tarts are crispiest and tastiest eaten the day you buy them, but the owner also shared some storage and reheating tips for enjoying them well, so I'll share those too 💛

  • If not eating the same day: refrigerate for 1–2 days, or freeze for longer storage
  • Eating cold: lightly thawing a frozen tart and eating it like ice cream is a fun, different treat

I actually tried running one through the air fryer the next morning, and it came back satisfying — no sogginess, with the outer crispness and inner softness fully restored. It seems more than fit for a thank-you gift or a casual gift for a get-together at home.

Trying the pablo cake at Eggroom

The pablo cake is a dessert layered with crisp?! sheets, rich sweet cream, and tangy fruit filling. The fruit's tartness cuts through what could otherwise be a heavy cream, giving it a different charm from the egg tart.

It has a texture that melts softly in your mouth with the first bite, and it paired really well with a warm americano or a clean tea. It's a treat worth adding on if the egg tart alone leaves you wanting more.

Is Eggroom worth a visit? Verdict and tips

Verdict: a satisfying dessert spot in Dongpyeon-maeul if you love a crispy-textured egg tart 💛

Tip: popular items may sell out early if you visit late on weekend afternoons, so if you want to try a variety, I'd recommend visiting between 1 and 3pm.

Where to park near Dongpyeon-maeul café street

Given the nature of Dongpyeon-maeul, parking space is fairly tight, and Eggroom is no exception — only about 2 spots are available right in front of the store. If you're driving, here's what I'd suggest.

  • Check the parking spots in front: on weekday daytime visits, the spots right in front of the store are usually available
  • Use public parking: on weekends or during peak times, it's easier to park at the 'Dongpyeon-maeul underground public parking lot' or a nearby public street lot and walk over (about 3–5 minutes)

If you're looking for a date course or a dessert café in Dongpyeon-maeul, this is worth a visit 😍
