Weekday lunch date in Seongsu: spicy tomato ragu pasta at Huirit
In short
Huirit is a Western-style restaurant in Seongdong, Seoul, set in a converted house between Seoul Forest Station and Ttukseom Station. Visiting on a weekday lunch with a Naver reservation, the writer ordered beef Wellington and spicy tomato ragu pasta, and the four-hour-simmered ragu sauce paired with the corn puree beside a medium-rare tenderloin stood out most. Two dishes were plenty to fill two people, making this a solid Seongsu date course.

Where exactly is it, between Seoul Forest and Ttukseom stations?

Huirit, a great spot for a Seongsu date, sits between Seongsu and Seoul Forest. It's between Exit 1 of Seoul Forest Station and Exit 5 of Ttukseom Station, so it was very easy to reach by public transit. It's about 5–10 minutes from Seongsu's main street, so it made a perfect route: eat lunch here and stroll over to Seongsu's main street afterward.
Inside Huirit, a Seongsu date-course favorite

Walking into Huirit, a Seongsu Western-food favorite, the outdoor terrace tables caught my eye first. Climb up half a flight of stairs, like a little outdoor loft, and there's a rooftop terrace decorated with string lights — it looked perfect for visiting spring through fall!

There's also a 4-person table separated from the main hall, with an annex-like feel — it looked perfect for a wedding invitation gathering with friends too!!

The inside of Huirit, a converted-house Western restaurant in Seongsu, is a clean white-and-wood interior. It felt like the space captured that particular Seongsu/Seoul Forest sensibility and comfort!

There's a bar table too, perfect for a daytime glass of wine!

We went on a weekday lunch, but since this is a Seongsu spot with heavy waits, we booked ahead through Naver. I noticed lots of people from nearby entertainment companies like Cube and SM coming in for meals too, not just people on Seongsu date courses! It was surprising haha.

What we ordered: beef Wellington and ragu pasta
✔ Beef Wellington ✔ Ragu pasta The main reason we came to Huirit was to try the beef Wellington!!! Out of several places that came up when searching for Seoul's best beef Wellington spots, we picked Huirit after much deliberation! They also serve wine and highballs, which were nice to sip alongside.

If you're planning to order the beef Wellington, I'd definitely recommend booking ahead on Naver! And keep in mind it takes about 15–20 minutes to prepare after ordering :)

The portion looked a bit small in photos, but that was just because the bowl was big...!! I visited with my boyfriend and it was plenty filling for both of us!

Spicy tomato ragu pasta, simmered for 4 hours
The tomato ragu sauce, packed with meat and various vegetables, is simmered for 4 hours, and you could really taste that deep, rich flavor.

Made with wide fettuccine noodles, the moderately soft yet chewy texture paired so well with the rich ragu sauce — this was the spicy tomato ragu pasta at Huirit, a Seongsu pasta favorite!

There was sour cream on top too, so we mixed it all in and ate it together!

Mix it well with the sauce. There's so much ragu sauce that I thought ordering a side of bread to dip in it would've been delicious too.

Beef Wellington with corn puree
The much-anticipated beef Wellington!!! I loved it right from the clean, no-frills plating.

Beef Wellington's signature is the pastry wrapped around a thick tenderloin steak. What was unusual about Huirit is that instead of a steak sauce, it comes with corn puree. That made it feel even more distinct from other places.

What an elegant dish...! I roughly estimated the cost of making this at home and figured... it's better to just buy it haha.

On top of the tenderloin steak is a deeply flavorful mushroom duxelles, topped with fried enoki mushrooms — what a genius touch! The fried enoki especially was a treat on its own, delicious even by itself.

Inside the soft pastry, the tenderloin steak also sliced softly. Just the right medium-rare! Tenderloin gets tough if cooked further, but this was cooked just enough to melt in your mouth while still having a nice bite.

Eating the bite-sized beef Wellington with the soft corn puree together, mmm~~ the tenderloin steak was thick and hefty in weight, so we got full pretty quickly! Great atmosphere, great food, and daytime wine too — that was Huirit, a Seongsu/Seoul Forest favorite :)
