Seoul Forest brunch spot for a mother-daughter date: Huirit's rosé

Day two of vacation, off to Seoul Forest in Seongsu-dong with Mom

I tasted the sweetness of my first-ever vacation yesterday, and today I was racking my brain over how to spend day two~~~! Resting while everyone else works is such a good feeling! Hehehe, if only I could live like this forever after winning the lottery haha. Eherahdiya~

Since I wasn't going abroad anyway, I'd saved some money, and since it's hot I couldn't go too far. So I decided to just wander around Seoul and eat something good!! And who with~~~~ my mom, of course!! Off for a fun date with Mom~

So where~~~ Seongsu-dong, of course haha! But plain Seongsu-dong felt too city-like, so let's head toward the quieter Seoul Forest side~! Kyokyokyo

Directions from Seoul Forest Station to Huirit

The weather was so, so nice that even the walk felt exciting! You come out of Exit 1 of Seoul Forest Station and basically walk straight the whole way, so it wasn't hard to find at all haha! The restaurant is tucked in a bit, so once you spot this yellow sign, that's the alley to turn into! An eye-catching yellow panel~~

Huirit's vibe: renovated house charm and an outdoor terrace

Ahh, following yesterday, today is another total view spot!! Feasting my eyes and healing my heart first~~~! The vibe is so full of feeling it seems perfect for couples or friends on a date! Hehe, if it weren't so hot I'd really want to eat on the outdoor terrace!! Seems perfect for sitting on a day with a cool breeze~~ Sunlight streaming onto the wooden door gives off some real Japanese-cafe energy too

Seating for solo diners to groups

The inside is small but packed with substance! There's space for solo dining all the way up to group seating. Seems like a great spot for both office workers in Seongsu and couples on a date at Seoul Forest, for all kinds of visitors haha. It's a renovated house, so the atmosphere feels even cozier and more comfortable, hehe

Beef Wellington needs a pre-order via Naver Reservation

But the real reason we came here is the food everyone raves about!! I wanted to treat my mom to something different, and while thinking about what to eat together, Beef Wellington came to mind! Hahaha, Beef Wellington needs to be pre-ordered when you book through Naver Reservation!!

We ordered the Beef Wellington and the rosé eggplant shrimp!! It was hot so we also got the passion fruit ade, hehe

The Beef Wellington and corn purée combo

Our food finally arrived~~! Drumroll!! Ooh~~ can you see how beautifully the meat is cooked, ㅜㅠ and look at that whole eggplant!!! So satisfying to photograph~~

The Beef Wellington's dense pastry wrapped the meat perfectly, so when you cut it the pastry didn't crumble or shift — it sliced cleanly for a neat single bite haha! And the corn purée was the kicker! Adding a little mustard on top gave a popping texture that balanced the purée's richness, which could otherwise get heavy mixed with the bread — really great!!

Rosé eggplant shrimp: whole eggplant and whole shrimp texture

The rosé eggplant shrimp had a whole eggplant, and I loved how substantial that felt — the eggplant's texture, which can be a bit mushy, was nicely balanced by the plump whole shrimp, making the eggplant-shrimp combo feel fresh and good! And any blandness was perfectly caught by the rosé sauce, so it was really great haha

Passion fruit ade

The ade was cool, refreshing, and really delicious!! The little popping passion fruit seeds made it feel even more refreshing! Hehehe

Extra bread for the rosé sauce

My mom said the rosé sauce was so good she wanted to dip bread in it, so we ordered extra bread!! True to the restaurant's claim that they make most of their sauces in-house and value a stable flavor over an overly intense one, it really tasted deep and satisfying, hehe

Who should visit Huirit

I really want to recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxed Seoul Forest date! I should bring a boyfriend here someday when I have one, hehe. Return visit intention: 200%!
