Gwangju samgyeopsal spot with 336-hour aged pork belly: Jeju Oktop
In short
Jeju Oktop JEJU BBQ, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch is a Jeju black pork restaurant on Gwangju-daero in Gwangju, Gyeonggi. The meal was the Signature BBQ A Set with shoulder rack and 336-hour aged pork belly, plus an extra order of black pork marbled neck (kkotmoksal), with staff grilling every piece from start to finish and refilling the myeongi namul (pickled mountain garlic leaves). Even a diner who usually avoids pork neck found it tender enough to order again.

I'm on a diet these days, but I was craving pork belly so badly on the weekend that I ended up at Jeju Oktop JEJU BBQ! This place turned out to be so, so good — genuinely one of the best pork belly restaurants in Gwangju, Gyeonggi.

Where is Jeju Oktop JEJU BBQ, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch, and when is it open?
Jeju Oktop JEJU BBQ, Gwangju Gyeongan Branch is at 11-13 Gwangju-daero, 1F, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are Mon–Fri 15:00–24:00 and Sat–Sun 12:00–24:00.

Walking in, the Jeju-style interior really caught my eye. It's clean but has great atmosphere, so it looked like a good spot for a family meal or dinner with friends.

Is Jeju Oktop good with kids? Baby chairs and children's tableware
Jeju Oktop Gwangju Gyeongan Branch has baby chairs ready to go. We visited with our child, and they gave us not just a baby chair but kids' tableware too — it made the meal so much more comfortable! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a Gwangju meat restaurant that's kid-friendly.

What comes in the Signature BBQ A Set, grilled by the staff
We ordered Jeju Oktop's Signature BBQ A Set.

The meat we ordered looked amazing just from the visuals alone!! And the staff grilled it from start to finish, so we could just relax and eat. No need to worry about timing — perfectly cooked meat was just handed straight to us.
Black pork shoulder rack

Shoulder rack is apparently the shoulder cut made up of rib meat and pork neck. It was so, so unbelievably tender, clean-tasting and full of flavor — genuinely unforgettable..!👍🏻

It was as tender as eating beef, honestly delicious. I loved being able to enjoy Jeju black pork in so many different cuts like this!

Side dishes, sauces and doenjang stew at Jeju Oktop
Jeju Oktop has a good variety of side dishes, dipping sauces and seasoning pastes, so you can enjoy the meat in a lot of different ways. Compared to eating just meat alone, having all these extras to mix and match kept me reaching for more! It never got boring and every bite felt a little different — I loved it.

And the doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) was so, so good that I finished off every last drop of broth. The broth was rich and deep, and it paired perfectly with the meat. Meat really does taste better with a stew on the side!!
336-hour aged black pork belly

The pork belly was amazing too! Maybe because it's aged for 336 hours, it had this nutty, clean flavor that was incredibly delicious! Honestly, it's on a whole different level from regular pork belly.
Black pork marbled neck (kkotmoksal)

Since everything was so tasty, I wanted to try something new, so this time we added pork neck (flower butt)! I'm not usually a fan of pork neck, but Jeju Oktop's version was genuinely delicious. It was tender with great juiciness, and even I — someone who rarely eats pork neck — ate it happily!! If I come back to this Gwangju meat restaurant, I'd definitely want to reorder the pork neck!!!

Wrapping it with mountain herb namul made the combo perfect! And they kept refilling the namul for us, so I got to enjoy it to the fullest!!!

Is Jeju Oktop Gwangju Gyeongan Branch worth a second visit?
With the staff grilling everything for us, the whole meal felt effortless, and the meat was tender and so tasty. I left in a great mood!👍🏻
If you're looking for a kid-friendly pork belly restaurant in Gwangju, Gyeonggi, or a Gwangju meat restaurant where you can properly enjoy Jeju black pork, I think Jeju Oktop JEJU BBQ is worth checking out.
I especially loved that I enjoyed pork neck even though I usually don't — so next time, I'll definitely reorder the neck and shoulder rack again. It's the kind of Gwangju restaurant I'd want to come back to whenever I'm craving good Jeju black pork.
Oh! And one more thing — don't throw away your receipt, because a single receipt can get you a gifticon and earn you points too!
