How to find Plate Dunsan Branch: 2nd floor of the Rodeo building near Timeworld

Here's the exterior of Plate, a pasta spot in Daejeon. It's located in a Rodeo building near Timeworld. Being able to pick from 12 different types of fresh noodles yourself got me so excited.

Take the elevator up to the 2nd floor and the entrance comes into view. Let's go on in~
Inside Plate Dunsan Branch: the window seats and the mood

The interior was quite spacious and comfortable, with a separately partitioned area too. The vibe felt upscale and nice, so it seemed like a great spot for a date or a blind date.
They had a high chair ready too, so it seemed like a great choice for a family meal out👍

Bottles of liquor lined up along the wall! Suddenly craving wine haha
You could also see a meat fridge. The steak here is definitely going to be good!

The kitchen was open-style too, which made it feel even more trustworthy.

There was even a space to charge your phone, so no need to worry about battery.

They were running various events too, like a Naver receipt review event :)

We took a table by the window. The tableware was elegant, and eating great food while looking out the window made me genuinely happy🤭
The Plate Dunsan Branch menu and what we ordered

This is the menu board at Plate, a pasta spot in Daejeon. There was a wide variety of pastas — lobster pasta, spicy chicken rosé pasta, abalone-gue cream pasta — and you could choose from 12 different noodles, which was fun and interesting. Besides that, there were plenty of other Italian dishes like sirloin steak and fire-grilled chapsteak pizza. Here's what we ordered~
- Steak cream ragu pasta 15,900 + set upgrade 4,000
- Truffle bacon cream gnocchi 15,900
What comes with the set: homemade corn soup, bushman bread, salad and pickles

First, the bread, soup, salad, and pickles came out. The pickles seemed homemade and did a great job cutting through the richness of the Italian food.
The soup exceeded expectations! It's a homemade corn soup, and it was so smooth and savory with the corn flavor really coming through. I scraped the bowl clean down to the bottom.

The bread came with fresh cream, and it was a chewy, soft bushman bread. It's great with the cream spread on, but also delicious dipped in the soup haha

The salad was great too,, the vegetables were super fresh, and the granola added a nice nutty touch.

The main dishes made their appearance too! Both looked so delicious.
What does the truffle bacon cream gnocchi taste like?

I started with my beloved gnocchi. Right off the bat, the cream sauce was generous — pass — and the truffle aroma wafted up nicely👍

The gnocchi here is delicious. Crispy outside, soft and chewy inside🥹 It's seasoned just right too, so it's light yet incredibly tasty...! Scoop it up with the sauce and it's a one-way ticket to paradise✨

Plenty of bacon and mushrooms too! You could taste a variety of textures and flavors, so every bite was enjoyable.
Steak cream ragu pasta, with tagliatelle as the fresh noodle

Next up, the steak cream ragu~ I picked tagliatelle for the noodles. It felt like flat kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) style noodles, and the sauce stuck to it really well.
Plenty of meat too! Meat lovers, rejoice🩷
I always thought ragu had to be red, so a cream ragu was genuinely refreshing. It's not heavy at all and the umami is insane! The fresh noodles made in-house were especially charming,, it made it feel special and set apart from other pasta places.

A bit embarrassing, but here's a photo of me having scraped up even the sauce..haha I ate very well and had a great time!
Who will like Plate Dunsan Branch in Dunsan-dong
So that was my visit to Plate Dunsan Branch~ The atmosphere was great and both the pasta and gnocchi were delicious. I heard they make their own pizza dough too, so I'll have to come back for pizza next time. You guys should definitely give it a visit too!
